I'm Pappy here, that's the name given to me by my first grandson. He ask me last summer if I was his grandfather, no one els at school has a pappy. I said yea I am, he said OK and never brought it up again.
Because his biodad never had anything to do with him I was... well ya know. Him and the daughter(mom) lived with us from birth for almost 2 years, so now I'm pappy...forever.
I have no problems being Pappy.

Same penguin(shave plan)for today as yesterday. As it's a lot colder today, the Stephan Bay Rum A.S. will have more of a presence on my face and neck than yesterday. This would be a great aftershave to take on a climb to Mt. Everest.

 

Y'know, you have two 19th Century products there. .

 

February Focus

Returned to the "Dark Side" this morning, using the appropriately named "Sunday Shaver".
Watched a very informative stropping video during coffee and I have to say, it really helped.
The hardware for today's shave is second to none. Luxurious knot on the CH2; the Dovo is probably
my sharpest straight...so far. My DD will soon return from Idaho and I am expecting great things.
The soap was Havana and I have to say, I got a really slick lather this morning.
The scent is what I had hoped for from "The Local Gent Cigar Lounge", that was an unmitigated disaster.
This scent is quite appealing. The combination of the Tobacco and Bergamot makes for a "piercing" top-note.
It really cuts. (pun intended)
I'll be posting my third and final installment of my review of this soap right after posting this.
I was really happy to again use the straight, after two DE shaves. The DE is great, no doubt, but straights
are my "thing" now and I am diggin' it.
I like hearing the "clinking" as the stubble is being cut.
Quite different from the "buttering toast" sound when DE shaving.
BBS on the jaw line and above. That would mos def pass the cotton ball test.
DFS on the neck that would definitely not pass the same-said test.
Completed the shave with Czech & Speake Cuba...my best tobacco AS. Period.​

Gee! I only have beautiful beaches on Long Island. Looking at sand is boring! Lol!

 

Makes me recall a funny story Paul McCartney told on the Oprah Winfrey show. His daughter was riding by him on her pony and said "Hey, are you the real Paul McCartney?" He said "Noo, I'm 'Daddy'".

Th differences are that big. Full hollows ‘sing’, they make a lot of noise while a near wedge makes no noise. The heavier the grind the heavier the razor so Tahiti’s about personal preference. I had two big full hollows that would flex where my beard is tough, I found them new homes.

Pappy to the rescue, I hope everyone makes a quick recovery.

 

I take it it's a milder tobacco than what we suffered through with Cigar Lounge?

Joseph, Great shave! Score one for the Dovo! I don't own a Chubby 2 brush, but I like yours. I am not familiar with the Havana soap and the Cuba aftershave. However, I probably wouldn't get it because I don't like the smell of cigars. Anyway, have a great Sunday!

I usually cold water shave for the same reason. However, I do like to use hot towels because it is so soothing to me.
