  4. An exceptionally great shave John! I almost pulled the trigger on a Rockwell 6c a few week ago. I'm sure you will make me regret my decision not to get it.

Just an 'ok' shave early this morning. Pulled out my prewar Tech as part of my 'favourites' focus and shined it up a bit. The Reserve Cool has been one of my favourite soaps since I got it when the Reserve base first came out a few years ago, but for some reason my last few lathers with it have been subpar. A little thin and not as slick as usual. No idea why. I've M-Bombed the lather the past few times, but that shouldn't make a difference to the lather. Also the first use of a Rapira Platinum Lux this morning, courtesy of a Rapira sampler from @NCoxSTL. Tried the Ladas last week and didn't care for it. The Platinum Lux was smoother than the Ladas for me. More like a Voskhod from the same place. Had 3 pleasant passes, but I'd be lying if I said I was completely smooth, as I usually am with this razor after 3 full passes. A little sandpaper on my chin and around my mouth. I'm probably being a little overly harsh, but after a few days with the MonoBilt/Astra combo, this wasn't in the same league results-wise. After 30 months or so of this, I guess I have pretty high standards. The good news is it will grow back and I get to try again tomorrow. Love the scent of the Cool regardless.
    Have a great day, all!

  11. Love the 'RickPic'! Ya, no kidding on the large Proraso bags, Rick. Why those aren't in tubes like the 'original' 4 I have no idea. The balms for the new ones are in regular sizes.
Looking forward to your write ups on your 'mini rule', Jim. You are going to use the Lemon Drop and the Vector throughout the rule?
The Jermyn Street is a consistent performer, no question.
I trust the school event will go well, Perry!
Another great 'Jim Pic'! If you are running out of things to say, Jim, we could rehash the same Arko jokes again...
Lovely combo, Clint. I see SV finally has the Felce pucks without having to buy the thin tin container.
Congrats on sticking with the focus, Charlie. I've no doubt that your technique is even better as a result.
Very informative report on the Valet, Danny. I've seen a few of them in the wild around here, but never bothered pulling the trigger on one. Very neat looking razors, though.
Good to see you posting, John! Glad to see you got an 'anti-favourites' excellent shave today as well.

  14. Yup, I'm going to keep everything the same for at least the next two shaves. I have two more scents in the CK6 base.

  15. Great shave John Good to see you posting again.

    There is that gorgeous brush.
  16. Thank you Jason. The Tin looks good in the photos but it is much thinner than the Asylum Colonia tin.
  17. Thank you, Clint. I only ever made two with a brass tool ferrule over top of the wood. Keith has the other one.
Yes, I have both as well. I don't think they could've made the Green tin any thinner.
  18. Thank you, Jason!

  19. Great shot Jason! You might have to do a comparison shave without the M-Bomb. Curious about the results as I just ordered a bottle of M-Bomb.

  20. Thanks Jason! I was really impressed with it till the pins fell out. I hope my fix will stay fixed.
