  1. Agreed. That sounds like something I'd like a lot too.
  2. Thanks, Jim.
  3. That's the kind of thinking that led to my NB19...:p
  4. Thanks Jim!
  5. The young toddler is a genius because he is making straight razor shave faces. I see a master straight shaver 20 years from now.
  6. Thanks for not bringing out your shot gun to make your point.

    Great shave, Neal! Keep cool!
  8. You had a superior shave, Jim! As far as writing new things to say, don't worry, most of us aren't getting the Pulitzer Prize for literature. Ok, maybe Joseph, the opera singer has a shot!
  9. Clint, awesome shave report and photo!

    February 21 - Moon Soap Review #4

Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed

Soap - Moon Old School Tallow Shave Soap
Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony
    Post - Alum

Final shave with the Moon Old School Tallow Soap and we'll give it to a horse brush tonight. I love my 12601 but it gets lost in all of the synthetics. Then I get a synthetic horse knot in the Jararuh #231 and it gets lost even more. Definitely time to give it some love. The Moon soap has performed very well with every brush and it did the same with the horse. Loaded easily, made a great lather, no issues. One interesting note the past couple of nights, the scent has changed a bit on me. Probably me getting used to it, but the Vetiver has come out a bit more as I've used it. Less like Haverford now. Still has the tobacco/vanilla mix, but vetiver is definitely there now with a little of the wood underneath. Very nice, and fairly subtle.

Two passes and touch up tonight was all it took the '47 SS and Sharp Star to get me to BBS. I did another face lather just to check soap volume and had more than enough. Nice finish to the day. Speaking of the day - all is still well after the brass parade today. Actually met a couple of smart people in the group which doesn't always happen with the dog and pony show crew. Can you tell I'm not a fan? Anyway, we'll see what changes do or don't come out of the visit and I have at least put my exit plans on a temporary hold until we hear something. In the meantime - I'll just keep shaving.

Also fixed my network problem with my computer tonight. I have no clue why this thing doesn't want to play nice with the internet, but adding a wi-fi extender with an ethernet port and hard wiring in has given me the kind of internet access I need and want. Case closed. Have a great Friday!

  11. Charlie, it's great to see you are doing better with your shavette technique. My only experience is with my Dovo shavette and I have to say I enjoy it almost as much as my traditional straights. The Parker SRX looks like a nifty shavette. If I wasn't satisfied with my Dovo, I would consider getting one because I have heard great things about it. Have a good night!

  14. Andrew, if you do buy the Rockwell 6C, then you won't regret it! Just don't order their Model T TTO adjustable because you will be waiting a long time before it arrives.
  15. Jason, we can't always hit a home run, but at least you got a double and your in scoring position. Excuse the baseball metaphor, but I can't wait for the season to start.
  16. Danny, that is unfortunate.
  17. I wouldn't buy it because of the obvious reference.
  18. I love the Lilac Vegetal smell!

  19. Just a sidebar, I am not offended when I buy Schmucker's grape jelly. Sometimes an odd name or phrase does work, but the MF or WTP titles on the soap is where I draw the line.
