heres a dumb question.does the fatboy replicate a blue ,regular or red tip shave ? or are they different due to the weight/size/ head geometry..etc..
I have not used the blue tip, red tip, or regular enough to answer that. I have had several Fatboys and slims and now a toggle and I usually shave the same way with all of them. 7 first pass then 9. I have tried lower settings it just didn’t seem to me that the shave was as smooth. Maybe it’s my technique but everyone has their thoughts on adjustables. I love this thread to see everyone else’s thoughts.
i do use my fatboy and slim occasionally and haven't had bad shaves from them. i hope my other posts here didn't imply that..they just lack character to me.. i know its just a razor but, its convenience for the masses..,as it should be i guess ,those were the times..free auto trans on any new ford, mixmasters, self defrosting refrigerators, etc..easier, more choices in one..all good..like @wchnu said.. they got it right with the old type..i like the news and 40s ttos and techs the most,u.s, british ,canadian, doesn't matter, they are handsome, rugged, and they perform well..just my .02 cents..
3 to 4 on my Futur, depending on the blade. Right in between with an Astra SP is best for my daily 3 pass shave.
Spine widths? That's like 27 degrees... Those numbers don't work here but you do have the Ultimate Adjustable.
9! Again I will say this!!!! Set her on 9 and don't go fiddling with any knobs Remember folks Gillette wasn't in the business of helping better shaves, or concerned about how well one razor did over the other. They were not in the razor business, but the BLADE business.
3 to 6 on my slim. For me, 9 would be like using a great big atomic planet smashing hammer to swat at a fly.
Well, I was going to say, 3 or 5, depending on my level of awareness on that particular morning. But, with all the neins in the above posts... Ah, what the heck, 3 or 5.
