RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl – Timeless Bowl Scuttle
Murphy & McNeil – Bad Mor
Gillette Fatboy – Nine, Oh Yeah!
    Vohskod Blade - New
    Nivea Sensitive Post Balm
Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

This is Fatboy February and I wanted to stay in the “click” even though I have been doing a SE focus. I figured I better get a Fatboy shave in.

I have shaved with the Fatboy once before and my Adjustable Executive once as well. I believe both were throttled back to five. I took Fuzzy's @wchnu lead and opened the Fatboy up to nine and left it there. This thing is like a 1973 Corvette with an automatic coming out of 2nd gear into 3rd at about 70 miles an hours. It is made to run and pull. I was a little scared at first but then I manned up and proceeded. I can honestly say this is one of my better shaves. The Murphy and McNeil is slick and provides a great cushion. The Fatboy mowed down about two and half days growth with no problem.

I really like the scent of the Bad Mor by Murphy and McNeil. It is more of a subdued Bay Rum, not strong and not clovie – just a nice pleasant scent. The more I use Murphy and McNeil the more I like their shaving soaps. They do a great job.

The alum was a slightly warm on the neck but the checks were great. Applied some Nivea post balm. I waited a few minutes and splashed a little Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum.

Y'all take care and and have a great weekend. Shave on!

    Razor: Gillette Fatboy Exective F-1
    Blade: Personna 74 Tungsten (5)
    Brush: 30DC LE w/ MS 2 Band 100% Finest 24/63
Soap: TSD Blood & Steel LE
    A/S: Folsom Capri
    Bowl: The Distinctive Goat Maple/Cherry

Great shave with these fine shaving products. Excellent to have Fatboy February. I always forget how much I enjoy using this razor. The 30DC LE brush whipped up the TSD Blood & Steel LE soap into a outstanding slick, rich lather, that provided great cushioning and glide. Just a couple of passes for a BBS. The finish with the orginal Folsom Capri was perfect.

Congrats on the razor, Neal. What a stunner! Chris did my MonoBilt as well, and the change was remarkable.

Good looking bowl! It's steeper sided than mine, and I like the angled lip at the top edge. Added that Etsy shop to my favorites. I wonder if anyone has told them suribachis are being used for other than the suggested purpose? Put a shaving related graphic on the outside and they'd sell fast.

SOTD 02232019.gif So much for shaving every day. I'm just trying for every other lately. Went with an Easy Shave today. A shot of the best canned cream available into the bowl, punched down & hydrated to my liking. First pass felt like it had taken care of my missing yesterday or day before's shave. Second caught much of the rest. Still had lather to spare so I went third and plenty of catch up clean up. No irritation owing to a little prior experience with the fierce looking but gentle shaving DE & how slick the cream gets when I add extra water. Kept the cooling menthol going with the AS splash since it's almost 70°F (21.1 Canadian) outside.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
