Thanks for the generosity and the vote of confidence, fellas. I'm a veteran member, but this is the first true rule I have done and I was trying to do it right to test myself. All has remained the same apart from the one soap travel variation. Heck, I'm even on the same exact blade. It's one of the Personna GEM blades I got from @Linuxguile. I wanted to see how many shaves I can get out of one. So far, 26 days of head and face shaves and it's just started to slow down a little. It'll make it through the month easily. One thing I have learned: triple milled soaps are DURABLE. I've now had 26 days of consecutive shaving on the Institute Karite soap, and it doesn't seem to have diminished at all, apart from the fact that I can no longer read the writing on the puck. I think I could easily get a year of daily shaves out of this one puck. For $2.99, that would equal out to around $.oo8 per shave. Not bad. But I'm not testing it. I'm dying for some variety! I'm thinking March might be a different soap and razor each day, as a rule antithesis.

Shaved early this morning, but no chance to post until now. Changed up the razor to my 'favourite SE' for the last few days of the focus. I've run through Favourites in a number of categories that I made up for the month- Gillette OC, Non-Gillette DE, Injector, Gillette TTO, 3 piece and now this SE. This shiny little beaut came from @Linuxguile as part of a trade a year and a half ago or so. I hadn't pulled out the Gem Jr in quite some time, and it performed very well this morning. 3 passes with one of my favourite soaps (which is sporting a sizable donut hole now) left me quite smooth. Finishing with a CL splash is always a favourite ending as well.
    Have a great day, all!

Congrats, Chris, on your focus! You're getting some amazing mileage out of blades and soap. Triple milled soaps, like Tabac for example, are my favorites. It is good to see you posting again, my friend.

Thanks, guys, for the kind words.

Jim, congrats on jumping into the world of shavettes! I couldn't agree more. Shaving with an open blade definitely makes you a better DE/SE shaver. I also find that I need to come back to shavettes occasionally to unlearn some bad shaving habits. Some would call that getting lazy and requiring a swift kick... :)

Edison, I am glad to hear you are enjoying straight razor shaving. I'm not the best person to compare shavettes and straights. I've completed just a handful of shaves with the factory edge on a PRC straight razor. The shaves were tuggy, but I will attribute that to my lack of skill in stropping the blade properly. For all I know, the factory edge was perfectly sufficient, and I didn't strop properly. I really enjoyed the weight and feel of the straight razor when I used it. I've heard that the Parker SRX shavette handles similar to a straight razor, but I defer to those with more experience with the two styles of shaving. (Grab an SRX for $30, and give it a try. :)) The PRC straight razor now sits in @Linuxguile's den, and I look for him to make it sing.

I love open blade shaving, but I'm not hip on maintaining the blade's edge. That's what drew me to shavettes.

I'm sure I'll jump back in with the shavette in the future.

An absolute classic, Rick! Combining the scents of Arko, Tabac and The Veg? Yup, must be someone who lives alone...or one who wants to be:)
Another beaut, Jim. You have developed a style on here that is instantly recognizable, always so detailed, yet looks fresh every day. Awesome.
Good luck at the concert tonight, Perry!
Great photo. I trust the birthday dinner went well, Jim!
The soap sounds very nice. Don't know about you, Joseph, but sometimes I find when I switch razor styles that I end up with an insignificant weeper or two. Rarely when I use a razor on multiple days.
Wow, that Ruby CH2 looks amazing! The best of the bunch (or the Sapphire...).
Glad you are feeling a bit better, Brian. Are you still going to fly tomorrow?
I see you've already received quite a bit of advice, Andrew Sounds like you are already doing better with it. Some top notch gear in your photo, regardless!

Thanks Charlie, The PRC Hydra was the first straight to be used as part of EDRIO, I am seriously considering sending it off to Glen to have a professional edge put on it and use it as a benchmark in my own honing escapades.
