I’d like to see more of your Southeast as well. I have been south to New Orleans, and east to Washington DC, but that is about it. I have been all over many of the western states, but very little east or south.

    Great shave Carl.
    Nice brush Joseph.

    Beautiful pic Clint

I made up many new ailments but my Dad always dismissed them and gave me $2 for mowing or shovelling. God rest his soul.

I have a couple of PRC razors, it was hit and miss with the factory edge. Definitely send it Glen and he will send it back with a most excellent edge.

I was wondering where you have been....

    Wednesday Shave

Today is razor I was on the fence about selling. It shaves great but it smaller and lighter than I prefer at just 5/8 and a full hollow grind. The edge was wonderful but it adds an extra level of focus trying to get the exact angle and pressure right with such a small razor. The Simpson Tulip 3 is one of my fav brushes in keeping with this month's theme and the Roja Dove is spectacular.

This tub of Crowne and Crane is taking much longer than expected.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

Razor: CV Heljestrand No 6 (5/8 full hollow)
    Strop: Roo
    Brush: Simpson Tulip 3
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Crowne and Crane
AS: Fine Vetiver AS, Speick ASB
    Scent: Roja Dove Vetiver

Razor - 1955 (A4) Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (1)
    Soap - Stirling Sheep
    Brush - Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

We're down to the final three shaves of February. I couldn't let the month end without giving the Red Tip SS a few tries. This is a razor formerly owned by @Primotenore and it's a stunning beauty. It's all original. Nothing replated or repainted at all. Pretty amazing to be in this condition. I'll pair it with the Voskhod and for tonight's shave pair up the Stirling sheep with the JR230 for a rich mutton filled lather. Mmmmm....mmmmm.....good!

The Red Tip is considered the most aggressive of the Super Speeds. It is the heaviest of the SS models at 70 grams, which compares to only 45 grams for the Blue Tip. The Flare Tip weighs 58 and the 40's models are slightly less at 54 grams. The blade gap on the Red is .029" as compared to .025" for the 40's models and .023" for the Flare Tip and Blue Tip. Interesting to see how they made the Blue milder just by shaving 13 grams off of the weight. By adding weight and gap to the Red, they definitely added some aggression, though it's still an easily mastered razor.

I've never shaved with one before tonight so I was eager to see how it did. I actually overthought it just a tad at the start and missed the angle. Even at .029" it's still a milder razor and I had to adjust my angle to find the best shave. Once settled in on the angle, however, it became as easy as just allowing the weight of the razor to do the work. An easy three pass for a BBS, or close enough to call it one. Effortless, really, especially with the Sheep lather. A very enjoyable shave and what a fine specimen this razor is. I'm happy it's in my den and available anytime!

With three days left in February it's past time to start thinking about March Madness!! Remember, this isn't about anything as crazy as MAYhem - but think in terms of tournaments of razors, comparisons, or doing something totally unlike what you normally do. I'm actually calling mine "Mild March Madness", and if you can't figure out where I'm heading you're over thinking it! I have some other things planned to make it a truly different month for me that may seem quite Mad!

Thanks for another great month around here. With three days to go we have far surpassed any February in years past. I'm not sure we'll break the overall record again this month due to losing some days with the short month, but it's still not impossible! That should say something about how much we like to talk!! Have a great Wednesday!

I use a dab of this on days when I want to keep the bird's nest under control. Comb overs can be tedious. :happy102:Pretty good stuff, doesn't make my hair look greasy once it dries, and it doesn't have much of a scent.

I hope you're pleased with the T, Joe. I pre-ordered an LE watch once and had to wait several months, but I've been incredibly happy with it. I've never seen anyone wearing this model, or the brand for that matter, in the wild.

It's a remake of the watch James Bond wore in Goldfinger.

If you don't get a night off soon, Fuzzy, I fear you'll become cranky. Your thought processes will begin to slow down, and you may even start blooming your Williams. ;)

Hang in there, my friend. :happy088:

Charlie, I am sure that I will be happy with the T because Rockwell makes excellent razors. The watch looks very classy!
