Superb post, Charlie! The sentiment and message from that comic strip was a pick me up for this morning. Thanks!

    Razor: Bakelite Gillette Trek Tech
    Blade: Dorco STD-301 (4)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Stirling Naked And Smooth
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Last day of the month and another voyage of the Trek Tech. We've been talking about the Bakelite Tech in another thread, so it seemed a good idea to go with it today.

While I will acknowledge that it is not the same feel as a regular Tech, that is not a bad thing. For me, it was nice and mild and I ended the month with a pleasant shave with no issues.

Thank you all for another great month.

In boot camp they would pound on use yelling, "quitters never win and winners never quit." I guess it sticks with you. :)

On the way in from Poland. Seller photos below.

I have been eyeing this razor for a while on E-bay. I was not interested in the brush but the razor handle intrigued me. The razor head is a “G/N Made in England” and I do not know if the handle is original to the head.

We went back and forth for a while with the “make offer” thing but we finally worked out a price. The handle reminds me of Doric order columns and appears to be made of aluminum. Hopefully it will polish up and look great with my Razorock aluminum 400 brush. [IMG][IMG]

This picture below is from E-bay on another G/N razor but it has a different handle. I did not purchase this razor. Does anyone have any information on the “G/N Made in England” razors?

Pretty good shave this morning, though I did get a neck weeper. My brush today was the Stoylin 26 mm Pro-Handle Synth. I received my PIF brush from @oscar11 's contest, and it looks real nice. My first white-knot brush.

Well, of course I'm using what now is the "old" formula for the Central Texas Soaps, but I've been happy with it. I'll order one from the "new" formula before long. Will be interesting to compare.
