The 10098 handle came apart easily enough. I had to do a little work with the Dremel to get it to fit my ferrule.

Busy, but not too busy to work in a shave today. Another try at Arko + Tabac = ArBac soap. I like it and just might do a larger than single serving mashup. Thanks Nirav @Spock for the inspiration. Was it Andrew @Linuxguile either used or was talking about his Futur Clone from Neal @NCoxSTL? Another discussion about adjustables prompted me to crank it up. Fuzzy @wchnu advocates wide open for any adjustable and that's where the FB stays. So great lather happened with the fat badger brush, three passes with the DE on tree bark strippin' mode, and a splash of shook up AS, and I'm ready for a Mardi Gras parade! Shiny objects in SOTD photos? Natalia forbid...

Excellent travel shave, Brian! I hope everything worked out today.

 

Just made an order, thus demolishing my earlier goal to wait until May 1 to do so. But I'm trying to set up good aftershave/shave soap matches. I've ordered Lumberjack Shave Soap from The Soap Exchange. It was going to be Texas Leather, but I plan on a "bundle" order from Central Texas Soaps, which will be the leather(Weekend Rodeo). That will come later on-perhaps on May 1!

Congrats on your first shave with the BlackHawk, Jason. In my experience, it takes a while to get used to the length of the AC blades. They are extremely sharp as well. After a few shaves, it will become second nature for you. Eventually, you might even want to try the Super Pro blades with their additional blade exposure.

Next up after my Parker will be my stainless Mongoose, which also uses the AC blades.
