Wonderful post, Luke! Look forward to your March Madness bracket results. Stirling is hard to beat for quality and value.

    Day 57.

Mostly yesterday again. Three passes with the Ralf Aust, touchups with the Piccolo. It wasn't quite as comfortable as usual though. Not terrible, just not quite there. Maybe I'm still not as consistent as I could be at stropping?

Excellent photo and shave Jason. I have found the Feather Pro blades smooth out a bit after the first two outings.

    Thanks, Jim.

I have a balsa strop for that, but I have not used it on this blade yet. There's only maybe a dozen shaves on it since I had it honed.

I am far from an expert, but I did shave just about every day with a straight for about a year. I found that after 10-15 shaves, running them on the balsa strop freshened the blade quite a bit.

Geez. March already. I got so behind in February that it was ridiculous. I’m going to attempt to keep up this month. I likely won’t comment a lot, or even hit the “like” button a ton, however I would like to try to stay afloat reading through the posts. We’ll see.
This will probably be my longest post of the month, so please bear with me, and forgive the wordiness.

For March, I plan on shaving. How’s that for commitment? As much as it would be nice to say that soap reduction is a focus, I have three more (plus four samples) arriving today. There goes that. I’ll probably continue using the Parker SRX, maybe not exclusively (see - not committing), but mainly. Another “kinda focus” is to finish the restoration of another straight razor - then get it, along with the first one I restored, sent out to be honed.

Another focus might be thinning the razor herd even further. I recently gave away a Gillette Tech to a young boy - my wife’s best friend’s son. I was surprised that he had any interest in traditional wet shaving, given his young age. I let him look through my stash to see what interested him. Since he picked the Tech, which seldom gets used, it’s his to keep if he wants it. He also picked Stirling Electric Sheep as his favorite scent - as well as Clubman as a runner-up! Kid after my own heart.

Another razor that has potentially left the den is the Gillette SuperSpeed. A friend at work is giving it a whirl. Guess we’ll see how that pans out sometime soon. He’s genuinely interested in learning. He got his first shave in today and seems to like it.

There’s a good chance that the two Fatboys will also head out at some point. While they shave just fine, I’ve found that I simply don’t enjoy using TTO razors nearly as much as three-piece razors - particularly modern ones. Yeah, I said it….and I’m well aware that some would consider that to be sacrilegious. Sorry. Not sorry.

Today marks the 56th shave with the Parker. It’s just so fun to use that I can’t seem to not shave with it. The Karve and the Supply both sit there, looking at me. Maybe a break in focus to give them some runtime will be required soon.

First use of the DG Dirtyver this morning. It’s one of the soaps I snagged on a BST. Interesting scent. Dark. Earthy. I like it - and so does my bride. I might have to seek out the matching AS, as it’s pretty much sold out everywhere.

Two drama free passes and a bit of touch up left me smooth. With soaps of this caliber, using aftershave is just for fun. There’s enough good skin food in there to leave the face nice and soft. I waited awhile before splashing on a Stirling (Stirling One) aftershave - and I almost decided to forgo it altogether.

Sorry for the long winded post. If/when I do post for the remainder of the month, I’ll shorten it up. You guys are the best.
