    truck was a 77 f250 xlt camper special. fully done c-6 with a 4-11 locker .dana 60 rear..toughest ford running gear they built..brother's a trans builder, i did the engine..best of everything..another rabbit hole..sold it to buy my 1st mustang in 07..aztec gold/wimbledon white paint body was perfect..very low mile truck.. i miss it..torque like you would't believe for a gas motor..

    I know a guy that used an electric wood splitter to compress a set of springs. :shocked029:

    Day 58.

    I refreshed the edge on the Ralf Aust this morning, and it did indeed make all the difference. Three passes, and one with the Piccolo. No blood, no hotspots.

    And the La Toja stick is finished!

    I was out and got the felt at Michael's, but they didn't have what I had in mind for balsa. But then I was in Dollar Tree, and I had an epiphany:

    Just a minimal amount of trimming for shape and fit...

    While not exactly the same set up, I have compressed springs with contraptions not too far from that. I don't think I would do it anymore, but in my younger days...
