Round 1: Stirling - Baker St vs Declaration - Original

    Shave 2: Declaration - Original

    The Setup:
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Feather Stainless
    Brush: Perfecto Pure Badger
    Mug: Henry Cavendish
Post Shave: Witch Hazel and Cetaphil

I had a very pleasant shave this morning with Declaration. WTG, XTG, and some touchup got me near BBS again.

Declaration made a a good amount of lather. I added water until the lather had a nice sheen and had enough left over at the end for a couple more passes.

Declaration is a lighter soap. It's on the croap end of the spectrum. If you prefer lighter soaps, give this one a try. It didn't lack slickness like some I've used. A preshave oil or balm could add to the performance of this soap, but isn't a must. The soap stands on its own quite well. This would be a good summer soap for when you don't want your face to feel wet as soon as you walk outside.

The scent is was just OK for me. The description of the scent is a combination of sandalwood and bergamot. Two scents I usually like.

    Declaration - Original
    Slickness: 7
    Ease of Lather: 7
Post shave feel: 6 (Not a lot of moisture, but not always a bad thing.)
    Scent strength: Light

Stirling and Declaration both performed well. However, due to superior slickness and post shave feel, STIRLING is the clear winner!

Round 2 will be Noble Otter - The Noir et Vanille vs Central Texas Soaps - Mr. Pepper.

    Have a great Monday everybody!

Very nice, Moose! Stirling as the winner is not a surprise to me. I'm enjoying your March Madness bracket.

This Supply Co. Injector with the aggressive plate is about like an R41 with Feathers. So, I'm definitely in the phase of dialing it in. There were plenty of weepers on shaves 1 and 2. Today was shave 3 and was much better, though I still had some weepers.

I'm finding that I can do the first pass with the blade at the optimum cutting angle. After the first, I'm to start riding the cap, demonstrated in the second image below It's yet to be seen if I can go against the grain in the more sensitive areas.

This is a great razor, I can see that it will be one of my favorites.

Yes we are. We are in the west central area of Alabama. Most of the storms was on the other side of the state. Thanks for asking.

Good to see you, Pete! Great pic and report! I've been leaving the 2dot plate in my Supply. Smooth and plenty efficient.
