well hello fello shavers, home early due to crap weather, enough already..so i thought i would post tonights shave..gillette new sc with a fat handle and prewar cap, awesome shaver..spoiler blade,rr bruce synth..loaded and lathered a nice slick captains bowlful of tfs crazy sandalwood.non eventful 2 pass combination dfs+,and fine santal absolute to finish..the tfs soap is awesome stuff, and these labels are cool,not the creepy wizards etc..and the santal absolut ... speaks for itself.. awesome shave,the new sc with this cap is really smooth and efficient, .. enjoy your evening everyone..gary

i guess it would be one..although the prewar cap was identical to the beat up brass cap that came with the new sc originally..the handle was corroded in weird spots as well. the baseplate was perfect with no plate loss..so i would call it a new sc with a fat handle..?

I had just honed this razor and it did not disappoint with how effortlessly it shaved. Had three passes that resulted in a smooth irritation free bbs. Now for the bad news, during the first pass I was rinsing the blade off I heard a small pop, I took out my loupe and saw a small crack near the toe. At the moment it’s not affecting how it shaves but I think in the near future I will have to reshape it to remove the crack.

 

Well Gary, knowing you would know what this one is.
This is what I will use in the morning for the daily shave.

Just another one from the draw. I think it says pat date of NOV 15 04.
Hard to read it.

Sorry about the blade, Paul. Any idea what happened to cause the crack? Age and use maybe?

 

Not sure Jason.
So far RAZOR EMPORIUM is the only one that does silver I have found.
Still looking.
I don't want it lost or broken.
