I picked this up in a lot of razors from the bay. It seems to be in really good shape. In a few days I will try stropping it and see how it shaves. My test on the blades seem to show it will be ok, but I am not a straight expert so we will see. The scales on this one are very interesting to me. It appears from some comments that they might not be original.
Very nice. According to one of my sources, that blade was manufactured between 1924 & 1935 with that single tree logo with no other marks around it and it was made for the non-US market since it doesn't have the US required"Made in" in front of Germany. If that is so, then the scales, which are definitely Art Deco, could be original. The French point goes well with them. Love the copper pin washers. Haven't seen that kind before.
I am not an expert on vintage razors but they do not look original to me. They look to be custom scales, and very nice ones.
Actually I shave with unmentionables often. There are plenty of videos. I just will not use cart garbage!! Still not sure if I will keep this one or sell it. I prefer shavettes so I do not have the maintenance time. If I was into straights more it would be a no brainer.
