Maybe too much. Not a cheap win. But worth it.
I also picked up more vintage Colgate cup soap and another cake of vintage Williams.

    How be the you?

Doing great. Picked up some Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Soap and A/S. Also a new brush from WCS. Should have an aluminum handle de coming in from Poland in a few days.

Your memory is spot on, Bruce. As a matter of fact, the shaves were eerily the same. If you think about it, just because the gap increased, the exact same part of the blade was doing the cutting. I know this'll irritate some, but that's why I call an adjustable a gimmick.

That's a great question, Bruce. I try to maintain the blade angle so that I feel no tugging from the blade. I swap my blades out before they go south, so a tuggy blade indicates to me that my angle is off. Sometimes, I will turn off the water and quiet the den in order to listen to the blade cutting the hairs. That actually helps me zero in on the correct angle as well.

On some level, I don't want this to be true, but you are right. Unless the angle of the blade adjusts somehow, just changing the gap shouldn't change the shave. I love the Fatboy, though. Of course, I never adjust it. It is either on 5 or 6 and stays there all the time.

i ride the cap ,sort of,the edge of the cap ,the sweet spot..with a razor i haven't tried its the way i start the shave.i only use gillettes at present so they all feel similar, with subtle differences.. fine by me..my red tip bit me once going across the upper lip, my fault..but the razors i like have a 3-5 blade gap if that means much..i know the guard is there but i don't ride the guard.

Oh man, I just read this and my heart sunk. I too have been down this path before , and I am a better man today. You are in my prayers Chris, I know you will come out of this storm stronger than you were before. Its true we dont deal the cards , only play the hand we are dealt. Stay strong brother, we are all here for you.

I started out bowl lathering, but face lathering gives me better results.
