Sorry no photo to show. Soap: Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylor sample Razor: Gillette slim adjustable Blade: Persona Blue Post: Homemade skinfood Post: PAA Planet 9 sample I've decided to start moving through my stash of samples I currently have. I've also decided to only start purchasing samples. My den of 100+ of both soaps and aftershaves is bursting. Face lathered with the soap and it was slick and built a nice lather. Scent was light, but nice. Planet 9 sample has a nice neroli floral scent. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

March Madness!! March 8 Razor - Gillette Tech Blade - (2) Soap - Wheat State Soap Barbershop Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum After last night's reminder that the Zorrik blades are not, well, the best, I got ready to give this setup another go. After all, there are blades that aren't the greatest on day one but that smooth out over the next shave or two. Because my memory is fuzzy, this could be one of those. I chose the Wheat State Barbershop. This is a non-tallow soap that doesn't perform too badly. The scent isn't really a "barbershop" like I like it but it's not horrible either. The soap produces enough protection and is slick enough to be usable. The other non-tallow that I deal with is Soap Commander and I would have to rank that several grades above the Wheat State. Still, not a bad soap at all. Well, the Zorrik SS is definitely NOT one of those blades that smooths out. In fact, it got worse overnight. Bad enough that working on my neck under my chin was just plain no fun. Lots of drag and pull and nothing smooth about it on the first pass. On the second pass I don't think I made much headway trying to work it down to a DFS. In fact, I'd say that I barely made DFS after some extra work AND after a bleeder on my left neck. That came from the rough edge and too much pressure as I tried to force it to work, so I'll take half the blame. Alum was nice and warm and on that spot it was downright brutal. The styptic didn't burn any less either, but it did stop the bleeding. Well, guess what. The Zorrik is binned and I'll move on tomorrow night. I still got a decent enough shave to go to work with tomorrow. The way my weeks are going in that realm this shave will still surpass my day at work for satisfaction. Happy Saturday everyone!!
Travel Friday SOTN Well, I only had so much room, so I'll pretty much be using the same stuff this week on my trip. Can you guess where I am??? A nice and comfortable 2.5 pass shave with the Q-shave Futur Clone... I still need to get more practice around my jaw line with the razor, but I didn't want to rush it and risk irritation for the first morning of my conference. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'm sure that we will . Happy shaves all... Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
SATURDAY'S SHAVE Razor - Edwin Jagger "Kelvin" Blade - *4th shave Shave Brush - Scaramouche+Fandango 22mm "Ultra-Soft" Synthetic Razor/Brush Stand by Royal Shave Lather Bowl by Royal Shave Shave Soap - Klar Seifen "Klassik" Aftershave - The Shave Den "Sensitive" (Unscented) Witch Hazel in an Infinity Jars Ultraviolet Bottle Preshave Oil - Lather & Wood's "Unscented" Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - Mysterium Serum Deodorant - Herban Cowboy "Unscented" Fragrance - Bleu de Chanel EDT ***EDIT - 2 passes + extensive touch up. I chased BBS around my Adam's apple, which is already a tricky area for me. Got some irritation as a response from my skin despite what felt like perfectly protective soap. I didn't use pre-shave oil because the Klar Seifen lather just seemed perfect (and it was). We all I think tend to 'go for it' when the soap lather comes out especially good. I ran my styptic pencil over the irritated area as I would an Alum Block to try to treat the area. The shave came out BBS and other than the slight irritation was fantastic. I really enjoyed the shave.
