Yes Gary, the older razors are nice.
I'm not sure I tamed the R41, but it is saddle broke.
    Thanks

Huh, I kind of liked the one with the blue background and red beret. Randy @BaylorGator might agree. I don't keep a score card Charlie. Are you Cartel, Revolution, or Instigation?

Round 1, Match 3: Barrister and Mann - Cool vs Ballenclaugh - Old Barber Menthe

Shave 1: Barrister and Mann - Cool

    The Setup:
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Feather Stainless
    Brush: Perfecto Pure Badger
    Mug: Henry Cavendish
Post Shave: Witch Hazel and Cetaphil

I must be doing something wrong. This soap was not near as slick as I was expecting. I used what I learned from Noble Otter and the soap ended up good, but not great. At one point, I had a good thick lather, but it didn't seem wet enough so I slowly added more water. The bubbles got bigger and the soap got thinner. Is it possible to build a lather for too long? I still had a good shave though.

The scent was nice. I got a compliment from my wife. That's always a plus.

The very light menthol in this soap left me wanting more. Looking forward to exploring menthol soaps more.

WTG and XTG and touchup for a DFS.

    Slickness: 6
    Ease of Lather: 7

    Scent strength: Medium to Strong

Next is Ballenclaugh - Old Barber Menthe.

    Great report Luke!
Sounds like you "broke" the lather. It was good, then it fell apart. Somewhere just before the bubbles got big and thin it was a wet goopy perfect. It's possible to add more soap at that point and recover the session.
Your first menthol lather? They get better and stronger until your eyes water and you can't feel your skin. That just might be too much.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Ok, this is the first post I saw getting on here tonight, totally without context on either remark - so let me just say that there will be no plastic surgery, unless it makes the entire joke funnier if I do. In that case, I'm open. Now, let me try to catch up in a bit and find out.
