Thank you! I started by squeezing the water out of the brush and went much longer than a 20 sec. load.
You're not alone. A lot of people struggle with the Reserve base. Best of luck to you! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
March Focus Yardley~~Simpson~~Boker~~Old Spice SR #42 No attempt at appendage removal today. Indeed, my wife noticed the scablet (sic) under my right ear and commented, as expected: "This is why you shouldn't sell all of your DE razors" I reminded her gently that I am keeping four. She said: "You had four in your drawer yesterday and now there are only two" I said, two are in cases in the back of the drawer, all the while thinking: "What is she doing poking around in my drawer?" Yardley made a magnificent soap. What a shame it, as so many other quality soaps, was discontinued. It has been noted, that the Simpson synthetic MUST be used aggressively to achieve maximum results. Today was no exception. Mashed that sucker into the soap and my face, adding water as needed. Boom-baby! Stropped the Red-Injun and performed my, what is fast becoming, usual routine. Keith has posted that he didn't figure out the final pass until around shave #88. I think he's keeping the secret under his hat, like it's some fraternity handshake. I keep opening up a raised are under my chin. I am either going to have to avoid that area until it's completely healed or just live with it. Guess what Primo's decision will be Splashed on the subject of Today's Old Spice Post: Musk. Strong juice, to say the least.
No shave today, I am preasure washing a pool at a tropical fruit farm today with a bunch of collage kids that are down volunteering (I am on the pay role). The deciding factor on the no shave was I have a little razor rash onder my neck and dont want to irritate it more. I tried a diffrent snave direction inder the chin and it did not go so well. You all have a great day and shaves.
Great report, Joseph. My wife seems to know all the goings on in the house. She pays attention even when it looks as if she's not. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
SOTD March 13, 2019 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Gillette Platinum Plus Razor: Schick J1 Brush: Artisan badger Soap: RazoRock Blue Barbershop Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave Easy shave with the J1 and Blue Barbershop. I really like this scent and think these RazoRock soaps are quite good for the price. They're downright cheap! The containers are way too small so I scooped out and pressed into this Grundtal container from IKEA. These are great for shave soaps. Nice shave all around. Long day yesterday. The groups performed well but the judging panel was tough. We earned an overall Excellent rating with the second group and an overall Superior rating with the top group. Those are good but some lower ratings were mixed in. We averaged out to decent results. I felt one particular judge was out in left field and perhaps being a bit unfair, but that's how it goes. It's over and done. The kids were pleased with the overall result but not all that happy about the lower ratings that were mixed in. I have to frame it for them in a way to help them understand it's mainly an opinion and that particular judge perhaps had not had his morning coffee! Anyway, I'm going back to the assessment site today to listen to more groups and hang out with colleagues. Hopefully can go to lunch with Alice and Wilson which will be terrific! I've put in a lot of hours the past couple of weeks and a break today sounds just right. Have a great day!
Great picture, Perry! Sounds it was a good day overall. Hopefully you can get to lunch with the family. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
March 13, 2019 Razor: '48-'49 NDC Aristocrat Blade: Voskhod (2) Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Stirling Naked And Smooth Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Today is my first shave with a new-to-me '48/'49 Aristocrat. This is actually my second, the other being my fabled "Impoverished Patrician". A post-War luxury razor paired with modern Russian steel... need I say more? A bonus picture since this SOTD is so short; the 70 year reunion of the Class Of '48/'49:
Although I applaud your shaving Joseph, sounds like your wife might have somthing there on the extra safety razors. Oh, I let my wife in my draws any time she wants in them . tp
We may be able to go back in time and buy the razor of our choice new. Scientists have built world’s first ‘time machine’ in experiment which defies the laws of physics https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/8624077/time-machine-experiment-quantum-physics-electrons/
