Beautiful shave, Clint. All this talk of snow...we need some greenery and flowers to start the day off right. I hope PT goes well for you, and I also hope Maya continues to feel better.

Looks like we're in for some weather-related fun over the next 24 hours too. I love a good 40-degree temperature swing.

My wife was telling me about this documentary as well, Charlie, and echoes your high praise of it, especially the remastered and ‘unchoppy’ film footage.

Sorry to hear about the troubles at the refinery, Jim. I trust you were able to get a full night’s sleep last night!

A wonderful photo of a great combo, Clint. Look at that greenery! We had an inch of snow last night. I am ready for spring.

    Razor: Gold Post-War Tech
    Blade: Daxton (Family Dollar) (1)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Stirling Naked And Smooth
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

The other day, I was at Family Dollar and sadly noted that they had replaced their Dorco STD-301 blades with ones from a brand named "Daxton" which appears to be a house brand. Worse, these blades carry that most dreaded phrase, "Made In China". IMG_0451.jpg IMG_0452.jpg

I'd show a picture of the actual blade but, frankly, there is nothing to show. The blades themselves are double-wrapped (a bit of a surprise) but bear no markings of any kind.

I went with a post-War Tech just to be safe. I'm not sure that today's beard (one day of fairly light growth) was enough to really test this blade. As it is, this blade will cut and seemed to do so without any tugging or other annoyances. I'm not sure that it is the sharpest tool in the shed, however. Tomorrow is an early day, so I'll probably skip the shave. I'll try to come back to this blade on Saturday with two days of growth and see how it does then.

Thank you Charlie. PT went pretty well. The elbow is coming along pretty well. I would guess we are about 75% of the way. Maya rested better last night. One of the incisions looks infected so she is going to the doctor this afternoon.

Thank you Jason. We normally have a very green spring. With all the rain we've had, I think this year will be even greener. Unfortunately, pollen will be truly awful.

    Vintage Williams~~Rubberset 400/3~~Boker~~Old Spice Burley
    SR #42

I really enjoy the shave and the feel of the scales on this Boker. The pins are not really tight enough
and I am reticent about attempting to address this myself, because the last time I did that, I messed up

the opening/closing geometry of the blade.
M-Bombed/Bloomed the vintage Williams and the results were phenomenal, as expected.
The Rubberset is a soap-eater of the first order. Want to finish a soap? This brush will ravinously devour it.
The Boker took care of the stubble without issue.
Pretty close on the neck. Not quite BBS, but a solid DFS.
The Burley was a nice finish to the shave.
