it's a free hard drive defragmenter...kicks windoze's built-in defrag utility's butt...faster and more efficient. I prepping a laptop to dual boot windows xp and ubuntu...Micah, I'm about to check out macpup while I wait
after I posted that, I googled it....I'll have to check it out. I used to use Norton's when I had that, but have just been using the windows one since I got rid of Norton.... I often thought about checking out Linux, but just haven't been brave enough to make the jump....
I am good and not yet. I work tomorrow then off till noon tuesday so I hope to get to work on it sometime. Jim was doing great but I had to run to the DR. appt the other day grrrr then been at work today and will be again tomorrow. grrr On a good note I shaved with the TOMS mint that I got from Shawn. It is ever bit as good a cream as he said. Another Open comb shave woohoo Fuzzy
defraggler's good, too, from the same company that makes CCleaner, another free program that is awesiferous to the maxx, no YMMV at all, it is hands down one of the best programs any person can download, and it's free! love it
I dig the TOM mint, it was my first cream. I haven't used it in a while, but I liked it. Sorry to hear it's been DCed... Yes, I really like CCleaner, have used that one for quite some time now....
Calvin, what we need to do is find out the IP addresses of all your equipment - IP (Internet Protocol) address is how every device on a network is individually identified (one of the ways, anyway), & my current belief is that your cable modem is in a certain range, and when your laptop is connected directly to it, gets a similar, compatible address from the modem. For example, if your modem is set with 192.168.0.1, your computer is probably getting 192.168.0.2. This is what happens with DHCP (the "D" is for dynamic, which means as each device connects to the modem, the modem gives it an open address in its range, thus the examples above). I believe what is happening is your router is having a different range, maybe 172.198.0.2, so when you connect to it, you can see the router, but because the router and modem are on different IP subnets, they can't communicate properly. If this is indeed the case, your router is going to have to be set with the modems IP configuration.
Sorry I don't have time to catch up, I will try in the morning. Hope you are all having a great night! JoAnna, that was an amazingly generous offer for St. Baldricks. Goodnight
Do you want the short or long answer? In other news, our new mac that we got *monday* has a line on the screen. I got a call into apple at 10 am.
