Couple of observations. First off I used a Bic Chrome Platinum blade again after experimenting with a different blades on some other razors. I got an almost perfect BBS shave with this razor. I doubt I would get the same with certain different blades. Case and point is the Ladas stainless blades. I used one on a few razors including an Old Type, shave was smooth and comfortable though not as close as it should have been on the more aggressive razors like that Old Type which I've used the Bic blades on before. You can feel the difference in aggressiveness on the razors with that Ladas without the irritation and cuts unlike some other blades. Shave was acceptable but nowhere near BBS unlike with a Bic and I could whip that Old Type around my face like nothing something I wouldn't attempt using a Bic or Feather blade in that razor.

Lesson here blade will make or break the shave if you have a set routine that works for you and to prove that to myself I will use a Ladas blade with this razor tomorrow and compare the results with all other variables being equivalent.

I missed a day and got to shaving with the Ladas blade much smoother shave, no irritation and almost as close as the Bic blade all things being equivalent except for the missing a day which can skew the results slightly. Either way that Ladas blade from whatever closeness performance hit there is depending the razor the trade off is little to no cuts and lack of irritation. I like this blade when paired with a good aggressive razor which this New DeLuxe is.

I think for the next few shaves I'll go back and forth on the Bic and Ladas with all my New razors. See how close they match the New DeLuxe and how much the shave varies on each between the 2 blades.

Right now the next 3 razors will be the Otto Roth, New long comb and short comb. For the last 2 I think the razors to use to make this a good comparison is to use the American Goodwill 160 and 175 since they are similar to the New razors.
