I get mine from local CVS/Walgreens/dollar store.. they work good for me. You liking the SE enough to buy some? I can send you some if you need more to try them out . I still have a few shaves with the salters..mint and sandalwood.. I like the sandalwood better. Fuzzy
IIRC... the local Walmarts have Gem Blue Stars 10 for $4. Our local CVS has another GEM SE for $4 for 5 blades.
I will gladly concur. Yes, yes, Friday. :happy088 And I'm not shaving this morning. I think I save it for the end of the day. Give me something to look forward to.
meh... arm that I dislocated last Sunday is now hurting worse. It had gotten better. Maybe it is just the fact that the weather went from 50s back to 20s. I shaved with a feather for the first time today and don't get what the fuss was about. I know, a 1 shave sample doesn't prove anything. But I think I had better shaves with KAI, 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (black) and 7 O'Clock Sharp (yellow). I am going to do a bulk order here soon. I just can't decide which... No school today... Yay! But due to all the cancellations of practices due to weather, team will practice from 8-12 today. No big deal, but it is a little odd trying to keep an eye on my daughter and keeping her entertained while helping middle school kids with power tools. Haven't finished valentine's shopping yet. I had to wait until payday (today) and now I will have to fight the insanity!
I have not found any blades that much better then the walmart personnas. i get laughed at about that but I get great shaves from them. what little I use DE stuff. I have a damaged shoulder that hurts when weather changes. So I know how it feels. Fuzzy
I shaved last nigh . after missing the morning shave due to over sleeping I was quite shaggy. So no shave this morning either. Fuzzy
Uh, Coyote. Pardon me, kind sir, but would you mind telling what competition the kids are involved with that requires 'power tools'? :think002
Science Olympiad. 23 events... some events are study events where they will take written tests. Some events are lab events. Other events are design and build events. So I have kids who are working on making better 7g airplane, more accurate catapult, finishing a small Rube-Goldberg like device, calibrating a gravity powered vehicle, and working on accuracy and timing on a remote controlled robot today. So... yup.. power tools and middle school kids. Honestly, I make them stick to non-powered hand tools unless I am right there guiding. But I have power saws, power drills, drill presses, etc... that we use.
Darn flippin' gettin' near 400 pages. WTF......... So, looks like I missed a bunch of 'puter talk. That is good. JoAnna is going to have a heart attack if my lawyer gives me a good report on this charity fund you guys are into. A dollar TSD credit for every dollar donated huh. We'll see about that......... Watched a movie called Mall Cop last nigth. Same fat dude is in it that plays in that one TV show. Pretty funny. Might watch Gran Torino again today, that was just awesome.
Firstly... Jen, I trust that plane crash in Buffalo this AM is no where near you (or any other Shave Den Brethren in the area) Second, I remember now why the previous dual boot setups took so long...I had to partition the HDD manually, set up a swap drive, setup GRUB, format the swap partition and Linux partition....with 8.04, it does it for you, just tell it how much of the hard drive you want it to take up...Voila!
I was gonna ask her if there's a limit on what the gift card will be, some wiseacre might get smart with a end-of-year charitable deduction and go in big time (not thinking of you Rolls, just the possibility that someone may donate $20 or more, that's a lot of gift card for free....of course, there's no telling the $$ you're talking about....) wife wants to go see Mall Cop tomorrow night
Good morning! eek! No, if the epoxy gets on the hair, it does not come off. Put some epoxy in the handle at the bottom, and some on the bottom of the knot. Make sure it is enough to hold in the knot forever, but not so much that it will ooze out. If it oozes out, it is garbage. I haven't had much luck trimming the knots. I have had to trim some glue that was gobbed at the bottom, but when I tried trimming knots it always looked goofy, not symmetrical. Also a good thing to know that if you want it deep set it will be a couple mm larger. It is easier to enlarge the hole in the brush than to trim a knot. Look anything like this one: I still have this one, but the handle seems too small for me. If someone is interested let me know. Lets just remember who's pocket that money comes out of. I would hope that you wouldn't put JoAnna on the streets.
I am really just kidding, Rodd. I would not want any credit or whatever to the store. When I donate, I do it for whatever the foundation is about. Usually though, I only do childrens foundatons. Right now everything is set up to send the $$. Just waiting for a phone call..........
Good morning all and happy Friday. Rodd, I slept on my idea of dumping a knot in a brush and decided that you will be doing the knot for me once I find the brush. I really don't need $14 worth of epoxy and a dremmel that I will never use again. Plus I am certain that I will somehow screw it up. I am kind of like a bull in a china shop sometimes. I am great with plumbing, carpentry, etc but calculated precision is not for me. That handle looks identical to the one I saw in the antique store the other day. Way to small for my big hands. Really had some heft to it though.
Morning Tracy I was thinking about that brush... but if it is too small for your and rodd's hands I bet it s for mine also. I am on the hunt for a vintage handle.. maybe get me a knottyready.. Fuzzy
It was a pretty tiny handle. Would look great on display but would only work well for my 4 year old son's hands.
Mornin' Those Wilkinsons that just have the Wilkinson Sword logo on them and nothing else, are those British or German made?
I don't recall seeing any distinguishing characteristics on the blades themselves, just the packaging on the German's says "Wilkinson Classic" in blue, with the UK Wilks having some gold lettering
