A very exciting find today. The razor and case are both in very good condition. Has the patent date info and is serial numbered 110869. Has a heavy patina and I see no plate loss, appears to have very low use. All teeth are mostly straight, a few tweaks and no cracks in the handle. Sometime over he decades it lost it’s original cardboard blade banks and were replaced with newer chrome banks. A small price to pay for a beautiful piece of history from 1905.
Whoa!!! Congratulations my man....Did you buy a lottery ticket after that!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Great googly moogly indeed. I jumped up an' down the chest of the. I injured the fur trapper. Sorry. Couldn't help myself there. What a great find. I bet with a little bit of Dawn Dishwashing liquid and the old aluminum foil and baking soda with boiling water trick will do wonders to shine that baby right up. And to heck with the cardboard blade holders. Those chrome ones are both better looking, more sturdy and worth more. Very nice acquisition. It pays to keep your eyes open. Congrats!
Thank you very much for the kind comments. It is always exciting to find a piece of Gillette history in such great condition. Off to the dirt mall to find more
I thought was a razor and a can of foamin' goo but he showed me right then when the top popped open there was HOLY COW, A DOUBLE RING
Holy crap on a cracker. Different flea market and a different seller had a single ring that I took home today. I almost left it on the table, having several single rings already, but as I was putting it down I saw the bottom of the case. It went in my bag and came home for further examination. Turned out to be a 1906 with serial number 382055. Almost in the same condition as the double ring, heavy patina, no crack in the handles, no blade banks, and one slightly bent corner tooth. Looking closely I can see the remains of the diagonal banner and lesser faded fabric where it use to be. In the same weekend I got a cased 1905 DR and a cased 1906 SR
