Thanks Clint....I cannot wait to give it a test run. I was trying to figure out how the plates compare to my Rockwell 6S. I did a little research and found that Karve plate B = .73, c = .85, Rockwell R5 = .69, R6 = .79. I understand the polishing thing. Never served but polishing does get old and I am not going to polish my Karve as well.

Danny, I wholeheartedly agree! You are going to have to keep them separated or your den will be violently shaking. Lol!

Joe...I agree. The Karve may have sleep under my pillow! :)

The neutral blade exposure on the Karve really makes it a very smooth razor. I think you'll be blown away by the quality of machining on the Karve.

Now that I got through all of the post, I think, the morning shave.
On the road I tossed my dopp kit in the car, not quite knowing what was in it.

    Well, well....
My Gilette travle razor with Feather blades on the side. Some Stirling Sandalwood and a Nivea chaser.

Didn't get the close shave I wanted, with one 7yo getting a bath and the yearling wandering round my feet, everyone else in and out of the bath room, but it was Ok. The two boys are fine, the new girl is growing and me, no blood, burn or itching.
Seen the great shaving posts here.
    Back home and happy.
    Nice work
    To all
    enjoy

Second time out with the Focus R21 Evolution. 2nd use Gillette Silver Blue. Used soap, brush, aftershave and stuff.

Quite nice shave. Still, a delicate touch did a fine job. It seemed a little smoother than the first time. Like the blade was a bit less edgy (is that a word).

Question for more experienced Shavette Drivers....
I have no need to seek blade longevity, but am curious about blade life expectancy and the indicators it is time to go. Your comments are appreciated.

For me, it isn't much different from a straight: if it feels tuggy, or I need to apply pressure to get it to cut, the blade needs to be changed. I can get 6-10 on a half DE style shavette without too much trouble. I don't ever really shoot for blade longevity, but I just forget to change them out.

    So what your saying...
If it tugs or you have to shave like it's a cart, the blade is history?
