Round 1, Match 2: Wholly Kaw - King of Oud vs Captain's Choice - Venture

Shave 1: Wholly Kaw - King of Oud

The Setup:
Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Feather Stainless
Brush: Perfecto Pure Badger
Mug: Henry Cavendish
Post Shave: Witch Hazel and Cetaphil

I am really looking for better lather in this round. To prepare, I turned to our friends at West Coast Shaving to help me Build A Better Lather: .

Since I'm using samples, it is hard to load the brush the way they describe in the video, but I did the best I could by spreading soap on the bottom of my mug. The results were a much improved lather. It still wasn't great, but it was better than before.

The first pass was a great slick shave. Maybe I didnt put enough soap in the mug because the lather second pass was thin, but still slick. I'm shifting to loading the brush then face lathering as best I can. Will continue to work on it.

repaired the handle on my new deluxe today..

 

I brought my Feather DX loaded with a Feather Pro, a brush with an Omega Pro knot with a puck of The Vergulde Hand.


For this trip I am wearing one of my Seiko mods.

I am here with a group of friends, we come twice a year and this time the hotel was kind enough to upgrade after I told them I am in good with Mr Fancy Pants.

 

Uhhh, ya. That’s the difference between Macau and Calgary in a nutshell- I get a plastic cart, you get a gold plated razor...

 

I have used a few ‘49s, and an ‘83. Same knot, different handle. Great knot- I think it amongst the best deals in wetshaving.

 

hello fello shavers, sunday shave time, had a small crack in my new deluxe ,so i gave it the jb weld treatment, no issues before, just piece of mind. went with the green today for st patricks day, new deluxe with a new spoiler,omega 10005 boar and the sv fern soap.. awesome stuff, nice three pas dfs+ shave, no drama..lovely razor /blade combo,i use it very little as its in nice shape..finished up with rr irish countryside a/s .. fantastic, have a great evening everyone...

 

In my road warrior days, I was happy with:
Morning newspaper, door drlivered
Coffee maker in-room
Iron & full size ironing board in-room

You had to ask for a razor at the front desk

Probably shoulda went to Calgary.

Happy St. Patrick’s day! Today’s shave was 30DC inspired. The Twisted Tweed Route 66 soap was a gift from @wristwatchb, the 30DC LE Brian with a big boar knot I got for a Shavey for stupid human tricks, and I think I got theirs razor fro @Keithmax. (Not 100% sure on that.) it’s an Easy Aces, but is marked Denver Barber Supply instead of Genco. Good shave, although I caught myself with the spike tip.

 

Nope, it’s not from me. I had one but PIF it to a different person.

 

Welcome to late Sunday night and I'm finally in, dinner has been completed on my end and now it's shave time. No, wait, it's not. My weekend has officially begun so I hereby declare a NO SHAVE SUNDAY!! I'll spend some time tonight and in the morning catching up around here and we'll take it from there! yes sir..i have an 09 gt glassroof in performance white with a few upgrades.. would love my favorite.. birthyear car ,67 gt 390, but a bullitt? oh yeah..
