Nice report, sorry about the bad set, seems your doing ok with the other parts. Gun ranges are a nice place to go, real fun with the kids.

Sorry about the bad MMOC shave, I have a few 1912's. I'd say you made a great choice! The 1912 is one of my first SE razors I fell in like with.
Very good chioce! Nice shave James.

They do cut close, if your not careful, a little to close sometimes.
That's what makes them so nice to use. They will mow down most anything!

A "Pink and Girly" shave Neal?
Think the Kampfe Star cancels out the "girly" part.

The watch hobby is a lot of fun and can be quite addictive. Nobody needs a wrist watch to tell the time, as most everyone has a mobile phone that displays the exact time. My $35 G-Shock keeps perfect time, and I'll often wear it when I'm without my phone.

I'm fortunate to have several manual and auto-wind mechanical watches. Most of them keep good, but not exact, time. I wear them because I like how they look or because of what they represent to me. If I'm in a hurry, I'll even grab a watch and wear it without setting the time. Some guys on the watch forums will sometimes wear watches on both wrists when they're knocking around the house. In that respect, watches are more like pieces of jewelry.

The Omega Speedmaster was the first NASA approved watch worn on the moon. And there are the stories about the astronauts that wore their personal Rolex sports watches on early NASA missions as well. Chuck Yeager reportedly wore his Rolex Oyster when he broke the sound barrier. It makes for good banter on the watch forums. As you can imagine, the watch manufacturers are pretty crafty marketers, and they love to tell adventure stories like these.

Old Mickey Mouse watches are indeed very cool. My sister and I both received watches packaged like this for Christmas when we were kids. My sister still has her watch. Sadly, I don't have mine. Neither one of us saved our boxes.

Looks like everyone is doing great!
Monday morning shave, not bad here.
Started out with a nice hot shower, get the blood a flowing. Now with the same durables and sundries as yesterdays shave, can't complain.
Some report that the Gilette Red Tip is a harsher razor than most, I don't quite see it. Shaves like some of my Techs, smooth and nice.
A one pass shave with some touch up on the chin, almost perfect.
With a new Feather blade and the razor running in the right direction, a one pass shave can be very close.

Doing this for just over a year, I really think that to start out wet shaving, you should try to prefect the one pass shave. This way you not only have to get your technique down, you will need to figure out exactly how the whiskers grow. It will also be more forgiving if your blade angle is off a bit.
But anyway it was a great shave that lasted most of the work day.
