Cool beans, Andrew. It sounds like you have a very interesting and challenging role. Most of my early system development/programming time at work was spent in the DEC PDP-11 and VAX-11 era. The first mini-computer I purchased in 1985 served about a dozen standalone "dumb terminal" workstations. FORTRAN and COBOL were a thing then. As my work years progressed, "everyone" at my company could eventually do "everything" from their desktop PC workstations. It was not a big deal to interact daily with my global counterparts. The technology was continuing to race along when I retired.

My computer interest started when I was a teenager. And I'm sure glad I took typing I and II in high school...it was just little old me and a room full of girls. :) In my sophomore year of high school, we logged in to the school board's computer using a teletype in the classroom for a BASIC programming class. In engineering school, we punched cards to run FORTRAN batch jobs, and eventually we could log in to the university (and MIT) computers using a desk phone and an acoustic coupler! I wrote my master's thesis on an Apple II computer and then paid the ChE department secretary to type it up for my thesis committee using an IBM Selectric because all we had were dot-matrix printers. :) Admittedly, I'm a dinosaur. At the same time, I am absolutely amazed at how computing technology has progressed in the past 40 years. I am committed to learning new things, and I hope to stay as knowledgeable on new technology as the average 12-year old. Eventhough the technology has advanced, the basic skills and horse sense required are pretty much the same.

The Felce Aromatica is an intoxicating scent. Who did you say sells the SV bath soaps?

Thanks guys! We had a fun day talking with subs on how we want some of the light fixtures mounted...and then on tile work....and then on..., and then we continued move related stuff here at home.

I received some great news yesterday. The chest CT I had a couple of weeks ago showed no change around an "area of concern" the docs are watching. Apparently, it is scarring from some kind of past event, and my blood clots are gone! I Praise the Lord for this fantastic news, and I thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. My doc started me on a daily low-dose aspirin as a precaution, and I'll be getting another follow up CT in a year. Thank you all again!

Last nights shave was a really nice one, this Duck always gives a nice smooth shave, and is also a great way to unwind after a long day at work. Which I had seen some great billboards along the long drive to our job. Here’s one of them. A3FE619D-CDB8-4C6D-8BE9-59CF85E1ED23.jpeg One of the little things to enjoy on a long slow drive. I have visited the place and had a blast there.

Long list of unread posts since last night 200+.
Got to read them but no time to really thank all who chipped in. The Wolfman, Flat Bottom Tech, Schick L1, Everready and more, sorry if I left your razor out but it took over an hour to get through them.

This morning I pulled out my Gilette Black Tip with the Aluminium handle and a fresh Feather blade.
Nice shave, no problems, clean and smooth.
A one pass with a quick touch up on the gord and mug.
All things being the same, it lasted most of the the work day, nice.
I know I am only doing a one pass but it is better than I ever got with the carts. Makes me very happy.

    Keep up the good work.
    Thanks for everything.
    Enjoy

Just a little note on this razor...
So a friend of mine has his grandfathers razors, one is a MMOC I helped clean up before christmas. I gave him some blades for it. As the time went on he grew a full beard. Well he got a new job lastvweek and guess what, he had to shave off the beard. So I see him clean shavin and was surprised to learn that he did a 2 pass shave, thats all it took with the MMOC, No trimming, chopping or anything else. Just lathered up and shaved it off. He laughed and said it looked like he was shaving sheep, it just fell off. The thing I did not know is, this is the first time he used that razor. No clogging up, no bogging down. That's a wonderful razor.
    Story over.

I’ve gotten a bunch of SV bath soaps on discount a few times at Winners, Clint. It is like a Canadian Ross’s or TJ Maxx. They are available online at Italian Barber for sure as well.
It enabled me to realize I loved Felce Aromatica, enjoyed Stella Alpina and Sicilia well enough, didn’t like Dolomiti, was Meh on Cosmos and Tundra Artica. Never saw Optunia, Sardegna or the 70th anniversary ones to try.
