Rick, super shave and set up. Stirling emailed about their Glastonbury scent and others for their spring and summer debut. Stated that the Glastonbury will not appear after this year. What is it about this scent that is so appealing?

Jim, nice shave and glad you are enjoying your brush from the TSD raffle. I am assuming that you are at the barber shop. Isn't it great to know that you don't need to use the barber to get a barbershop shave at home! So guys, every time you use a straight, you are saving the barber's shaving price. I guess those savings subsidize our shaving accessories.

Today, after 48 straight razor shaves, I shaved my chin for the first time with a straight.
Yes, friends and neighbors, I took off the goatee---all 4" of it.
Now, this was not easy for me and under the lip was especially awkward,
but...no damage. I did, however, leave a nice vertical line on my right cheek.
It's Sunday and I haven't used the Sunday Shaver in about two weeks, so I thought it was time.
The Yew Wood is calling out for some treatment. Any recommendations?
You will NOT believe this, but the Hemingway Crème had some granules in it!!!!!
I am going to write the company immediately after posting this. They were NOT there at first.
The granules did dissolve after giving them a fairly vigorous workout in the Aesop bowl.
The Simpson SiLVERTiP knot is soooooo great. I am not, however, in love with the butterscotch.
I would trade it for an ivory. (Which I used to own but STUPIDLY sold)
Two brushes I have regretted selling: The aforementioned SiLVERTiP (2012, the BEST) and
a 30mm Declaration Grooming B2 Franklin. Wow, that was a killer brush.
It was metallic blue...not my favorite color, but man was that ever a magnificent brush. Oh well.
The Dovo cleaned up the chin nicely. I had to experiment with some grips.
Results: DFS.
Finished with the Winter Reserve. Excellent match for the soap.​

Wonderful shave and recap. I’m curious what the firm says about the cream.

Joseph, nice shave and very daring to shave your goatee for the 1st time with a straight and no boo-boos. Shaving the chin is very tricky when using a straight. Sorry about the cheeky cut. By the way, what is it with you and granular soap?

It is definitely one of those polarizing scents. For me, another one is Port au Prince. The drydown reminds me of freshly dug dirt.

I can use Electric Sheep but always give it the 'Aqua Velva Overlaquer'.

It was only when I began to experience this fine art/hobby of wet shaving that I learned that "clean dirt" doesn't smell all that bad....let alone that there was such a thing.

I use mineral oil on my wooden cutting boards to seal and protect them. Mineral oil doesn't go rancid. Just a thought.

My first Sunday Shaver is Yew, haven't noticed an issue yet.

The Lovely Mrs Headroom uses Murphys Oil on the furniture. I probably have some Teak Oil from my boating days. I'd be tempted to try one of those.

Maybe one of the skilled woodworkers we find here has a recommendation.
