User error was responsible for this one. I just wasn’t paying as much attention, my mind was thinking of the long drive that I had ahead of me. It wasn’t a great shave but not that bad overall.

Congrats on selling the trailer. I hope you have the bathrooms finished soon.

@Terry is a head shaver, so no worries about cutting in sideburns. No word if his eyebrows have grown back yet.

Thanks Andrew, it’s a good size blade but someone really sacrificed a lot of steel, what they were trying to accomplish I have no clue.

Razor: Colonial Razor The General Stainless
    Blade: Feather Pro Guard
Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom
    Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo
    Soap: Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet
Post Care: Stirling Unscented Witch Hazel,
    Alum
    Aftershave: Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet

I had a nice shave this morning. I'm really liking this stainless version of the General. Both the Feather Pro and the Guard work really well in it, I'm having a hard time deciding which I like better. The Wholly Kaw performed nicely however I'm not too sure about the scent. While pleasant it is a little too flowery for me; this one is likely going into the sell pile. I do really like the performance of this soap and aftershave and it did leave my face feeling nourished and refreshed so it's just a matter of finding a scent that I like from them. Have a great day folks!

Wholly Kaw is a great performer but the scents can be hit and miss.

The scent was nice and if someone is in the market for a flowery Fougere this would hit the mark. When I asked my fiancee about the scent she said "it's nice but I'm the one that's supposed to smell like a girl". That sealed it for me.

I would suggest that you declare victory if you accomplished what you set out to accomplish. Remember that the whole idea to improve technique, or to solve a problem that you've been having. If you did that, then don't get too hung up on numbers.

King of Oud is my favorite WK scent that I've tried. It is on the sweet side. King of Bourbon may be one to try. Merchant of Tobacco has cocoa in it and for some reason the scent of cocoa really stands out to my nose. It's nice but chocolatey. Project Leather has a medicinal smell, although it's starting to grow on me. I've been using it to defunk new brushes and it works wonders for that.

So....forgot my usual Proraso PreShave Cream. What a difference in first pass shave experience for me. Scritchy noisy. Applied before the second pass, and back to normal. Don't often use the WSP, and it was a little tougher getting a good amount of lather out of the Ogallala puck. Had to load it twice. I'm definitely used to the process of how it works with the Semogue boar.

Overall a DFS with one neck (bump) weeper. Nothing the Gentleman Jon couldn't handle. Also, the PolSilver blade is turning into a favorite...very smooth on the first pass compared to most others I've used so far (even without the PreShave today). Same no tuggy feel in the Gold Tech and the Dart. Have some more, so will see if that trend continues.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I almost pulled the trigger on the King of Bourbon until I read that it is very vanilla forward. King of Oud sounds good but I'm leaning towards the Monaco Royale.

Great photo and shave Ben. That comment would have sealed it for me as well.
