Well, much like the choice of blades, soaps, etc., the individual nature of this endeavor makes giving a "cut-and-dried black-and-white answer" a bit of a landmine. Here is my personal answer if that helps. Based on what G.D. set up with the Rule, and his assumptions that 30 days = 30 shaves, the answer is 30 shaves. And, for newbies, I would definitely give that as the expected and recommended answer. For more experienced guys moving to new gear, etc., I think it's probably the overall best but we all have different learning curves too. Once you have the basics mastered I think it's easier to move to something new because key principles like angle and pressure are already learned. So, the time it takes to master a new razor or type of razor will vary a bit.

Another good report Luke. It might be interesting for you to revisit this next year and see how your rankings change.

I haven't been keeping score on my Shaveette Fu see-saw karma.

When I started looking for a flat top replacement boar knot for a Rubberset 400, the closest I could find at a decent price was an Omega Pro 98. Been a couple years ago. Could be someone is selling them now. Sure are plenty of badger and synths available.

Glad y'all hashed that out to an almost clear answer. I might have an opinion, but I'm only the groundskeeper.

Same for me on the upper lip. I have no idea how I'd shave it because it's been furry since the mid '80's.
Video of the event, follow up report on the 11 O'clock News.

    Day 81.

Another go at the Haslinger, and the Pitralon. The latter is down to maybe 3 or 4 shaves. The soap is taking its time a little more, they way they do. But it's getting there. Makes for a great shave, of course. Today was no exception.

    Either way, problem solved!

Any angle, coming around a corner, is an issue. For me, it was about finding the right combination of stretching and facial contortions. I start by pulling my lower lip up and back over the teeth. Kind of makes the chin "taller." Then with my free hand pull the sides back and a little bit up. On my face, that creates a nice wide flat spot where the sides of the ball would otherwise be. When I let go with my hand but keep the lower lip pulled back it somewhat flattens the front of the chin. Not perfectly flat, but it does help.

Alas, none of that changes the fact that the whiskers are really coarse there.

Early morning shave, afternoon post. Everything worked as it should. It’s a busy day, but hopefully I’ll get a chance to catch up later tonight.
    Have a great day, all!
