I also had an idea for a homemade case.

Altoids tin, anyone?

Just got to figure out what to line it with. I'm thinking polymer clay molds nicely. It'd work great for a take-apart razor, but I still need a safe way to transport my TTO razors... right now I drop them loose in a lock-n-lock box with a pack of blades and my headblade. Not ideal at all.

I saw a nice little leather box with a "portable bar" setup in it, and that got me to wondering if anybody makes custom boxes like that. I'd like a little leather bound hard-side box with compartments for specific implements. How would you even go about getting something like that made?

 

I had router troubles once and the solution was to turn off the routers internal firewall. Not a big deal since you have a firewall on your PC presumably.

 

What happened to people posting in the classifieds to give good prices on things. Now it seems there are certain people not members of HYD that are looking for top dollar. just an observation.

I will refer you back to this comment I had regarding this topic a few weeks ago.

 

I use altoid tins for my SE and 3 piece razors. You can line them with felt or other material, add dividers and have a passable case. Unfortunately, 1 piece razors won't fit. A sucrets box might be thick enough, but too short for any TTO that I have.

My feather portable's case has a hinge that keeps coming undone, so I actually put a lining in an altoids box so that the feather portable box sits inside the altoids box.

Hey, Cal...something I just thought of that gave me problems when I was setting up my network. Have you tried disabling your software firewall? AVG/Norton/McAfee, or whatever it is you use. I had my network wet up, and the internet was detected, but I had to allow the router's IP address for my firewall to let my browser connect to it.

Shut off your firewall and try to access TSD or a known safe page. Then re-enable your firewall ASAP. If it worked when it was off, then you need to configure your firewall to allow access to your router's IP address. If it doesn't work, then it's something else.

I banged my head for days until I tried that, and that's exactly what the problem was.

I am not sure this place is that safe.. It seems to fuel many an addict...

On the other hand, between the firewall on the router and firewall on the computer there could be issues.

It's all good Bunny. This is the time of year when it's a pleasure to live here. Nov to June is fantastical. Tucson gets a little colder than we in the valley though. I'll miss this time of year once I move on, but I'm ready to go. A decade in one place is long enough for me.

Bummer about the funeral, buy hey. It's the last thing each of us has to do here right? When my day finally comes (hopefully a ways off yet), I'll be ready to move on and see what comes next.

I left work at 1 and went home and took a nap. Feeling much better now. Hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight. I am not a nap person but today I just couldn't focus and was having a tough time staying awake. Tonight, before bed, I will consume mass amounts of Nyquil and that oughtta make me sleep.
