    The only obvious visual difference is that the 59 has a collar under the adjustable mechanism and that there are 2 tiny "openings" on the bottom so that you can easily take it apart. I would think they would shave exactly the same. On Ebay, I have seen prices of mint condituon with box and blades over 100 dollars and one at a ridiculous 240 dollars. I paid 75 for this one because it was near mint with box. I figured with the 20 I paid for the other, I got 2 for 47.50 each with one box so I didn't hurt myself too badly! There are other Fatboys in terrible condition for a lot less. Now, I am only waiting for my Rockwell Model T to round out my DE safety razors. I have 10 straights, a shavette, and 6 DE safety razors (when I get the T razor) and that is more than enough razors in my den.

    No Alum, then Thayers Witch Hazel Original and Polar Ice Booster splash

    My neck felt a bit raw after my usual two passes today. Then I realised I was shaving at noon today after last shaving yesterday near midnight, so only about twelve hours between shaves instead of my usual full day or more. I certainly noticed the difference! I skipped the alum, administered some soothing Thayers WH first, and then spritzed the splash over top of that. Problem solved.

    Can't hurt. Go for it. Seriously, for the price they get for their brushes, the LEAST we can expect is that the decal is applied straight.
