We had a Yorkie that we finally had to rehome (actually, we almost put her down for her own good but the vet convinced us otherwise) who had Small Dog Syndrome to suicidal levels. She started off great as a puppy but snapped one day and started going after the most senior of our Mini Schnauzers. That one was a former puppy mill breeder bitch, an otherwise docile dog who would have none of it.

Some time after the Yorkie debacle, we got a Rough Coat Collie. She was a wonderful girl but, when the doorbell rang, her protective instincts would kick in big time. At the sound of the bell, she would break into her "big girl bark" and try to nip at the butt of anyone going to the door. Once you got the door open, she would realize that there was no threat and reset. Very strong breed instincts- she had a spot in the center of the back yard where she would arrange her toys in a circle and then lay in the middle.

That's my wife's Service Dog, a Standard Poodle. I swear that other dog's poop is her second favorite food.

Thank you Jason. I’m going to my Mom’s house on Saturday to pick up her income tax information. She sold some timber on the farm this year so it will make her return a little more interesting.

    March 29 SOTD:

    Razor: PAA Starling V2
    Blade: Gem Stainless
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Palmolive Classic SC
    Aftershave: Stetson Cooling Moisture
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

This is likely my last shave with the Starling this month. Once I got the hang of it, it has been a terrific shaver. It is easy to get a DFS on two passes with this lightweight razor. As I am sincerely thinking about trying to actually get serious about reducing my razor inventory, this one is making a case to remain. It isn't a slam dunk, but this is a worthy razor. I hope everyone has a great day!

Very good shave! That razor is a close shaver. I ride the cap and it makes it hard for me to use it. But it is a close shaver.

That is too bad about the reaction. I hope your wife can use it, as it is a nice soap.

RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl / Timeless bowl scuttle
    Murphy & McNeil – Triskle
    Derby Blade
    Rockwell 6S – Plate 6
    Nivea Post Balm
    Pinuad Clubman Classic

I broke out the Rockwell this morning for a great shave. The Rockwell was feeling a little neglected due to the addition of the Karve to the den.

The Rockwell fails to give a bad shave and it is just dependable. When paired with a great soap like the Murphy & McNeil it is a joy to drive. The Murphy and McNeil is continually impressive, just a slick cushiony lather that does an excellent job.

Finish up with a little Nivea and Clubman.

Y'all take care and have a great weekend!

No image day...a little insomnia last night so needed a mindless morning shave.

    BBW Vanilla Bean face scrub
    Proraso PreShave
    GFT SC
Zenith Copper Handle Boar (new toy)
    Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Voskhod Blade
    GFT Skin Food

1 pass DFS for the cheeks, 2 pass DFS on the neck. Just the facts...The Slim Adjustable just gets it done admirably. Will be in lurk mode for a couple days as its a long working weekend.

I’m catching up in stages. Here is another installment of comments to things said several days ago which no one now remembers…
I tried that soap in a pass around one time. I’m not a Fougere fan at all, but it smelled like caramel to me, so I liked it. Wondering if it picked up that scent from other soaps in the box or if you pick up that same scent.

I thought I was a soap geek, but you have a Stirling T Shirt? Wow. That’s commitment.

I’m not sure that the Academy is ready to start an elbow shaving category, but who knows. Depending on the results. I guess it could become a thing.

Curious to know how this goes. My biggest frustration is trying to get one of Simpson’s LE Chubby Synths. Apparently the only way to get them is to watch their Instagram feed and be the first to email them and claim it. Clint has been kind enough to clue me in a few times when they came up, but my e-mail has always been late to the party. Can’t they just take my money and put me on a list for one? Having to check their Instagram continually like I’m a 15 year old girl and then “be the first caller”, only to find that I’m not (again like I’m a 15 year old girl) is ridiculous and demoralizing. This marketing model ticks me off.
