  1. First safety razor I ever bought. One of the most consistent razors ever. Never let's me down. IMG_20190329_090410_134.jpg
  2. The 40’s SS is totally underrated and under appreciated because of the dominance of the early safety bar Aristocrat, Milord and Ranger, but it simply an oversight.

  3. As much as I love my vintage adjustables, this SS has a special place for me. I bought it at a little antique shop in Arkansas. It shaves very well no matter the blade choice.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I used it exclusively for about 3 months and developed my technique on it.

    Either way, I'll take it.
    Shave on!

Another day, another A’crat and this one is a fav of mine. This particular one is a USA 1946-47 version and is in truly immaculate original condition. Whoever had it barely used it as the knurling on the handle is new and the finish perfectly preserved. I have not polished this one. It shaves even better than it looks.

Today’s soap choice was Barrister & Mann Tuesday which is a wonderful lavender and violet accord. Seasonal scent yes, very much so but what a great scent and performing soap. Topped it off with the matching AS.

Loaded the A’crat up with a fresh Personna Med Prep and proceeded to lather up with a custom creation. This brush comes courtesy of two community members who graciously donated it in a PIF as a lot of three. This brush is beautiful and has a custom turned maple handle that was sourced from an ancient fallen tree on the creator's property. An approximately 24mm Horse Hair knot sits in this one. I have never used a horse hair brush before and I was very impressed. Soft with great cushion and though not a pronounced amount of backbone it just seemed perfect for the loft. Splay on this brush was beautiful and for a first outing of any brush just about perfect. Only detractor is I stopped at three passes because I could have gone until lunch lathering up with this one! Beautiful three pass BBS shave was achieved all while enjoying some pretty nice shaving eye candy! Let the weekend begin...happy shaves all!

  6. Today, I used my Red Tip A2 for the first time in a few months. Such a mindless, smooth shave. I used a Spoiler blade I got in a pif from @Linuxguile, & on its 13th shave is still smooth & sharp!
  7. nice set up and pic ..do you like the pure cream? how bout the deep aftershave?

  8. cool set up and pic sir..
  9. nice crat..
  10. Thank you Sir...
  11. Second shave with the Ladas was about even with the American Goodwill 175. With that wide of a disparity in performance depending the blade I'd rank it overall with the other New and Newish razors in 3rd place behind the American Goodwill 160 which was the most consistent with both blades and New DeLuxe. I'd still grab this one first before any of the others for a daily shaver when you factor in the cuts and pain factor.

  12. very cool sir..i know this isn't relevant to the goodwills , is there any shave difference between a 1941 crat and a 46-7 early crat?. i know the 41 doesn't have end caps.thanks in advance..

  13. They are different shave. The 46 - 47 is a lot more smoother. The 46 - 47 is a very distinct shave at least for me anyways. None of the other US TTO Aristocrats are close to it except for maybe a 34 - 35 Aristocrat.

  14. You didn’t ask me, however, I’ll say they shave the same. I don’t notice a discernible difference between those and the 47, but the 48-50 does shave differently for me. It is milder than the earlier Aristocrat. I find my 1955 Diplomat milder than the 48-50.

  15. thank you sir, i have a nice 46-7 with missing end caps, someone suggested i remove the solder and leave it be.like a 41... i like that..thank you..

  17. The pure cream is a total knockout! Great scent, easy performance, and it is slicker than cow snot. It has a light almost sweet manly scent.
The Deep after shave is a win as well. It has a tight restrictor, and I don't notice much of a burn. It is a manly scent as well but on the opposite end of the pure cream.
It's a bit darker of a scent. I've used it all week, it's a keeper!
Great value from both products, and I'm glad to see them appear in normal stores for us blue collar guys.
