Thanks, Terry! I didn't think it was possible to get that kind of shave. I have had very good to near perfect shaves, but this one was off the charts! I hope that every person on this thread that hasn't had a shave like this one will get it.

Last day of March and Sunday to boot!
    Hello everyone!
Another newly received razor, a CLIX bakelite razor, that's a close relation to the Conrads I have. Got the case with this one and it is bakelite too.
While giving it the work over, I noticed it has a steel incert for the handle threads. It was slightly rusty, I cleaned it up and oiled it hopefuly to stop any more rusting. Rusting causes the meatal to expaned, busting the handle.
Using a new feather for the first pass it was very evident that this was a mild razor. The second pass with another freshly unwrapped feather was about the same. It took a third pass on the neck to get a good clean shave. I used blade number 2 for neck clean up.
I did get a good shave, verging on a great shave, so not to bad a little tool.
If you like light and mild razors that do a good job, this would work. Now it not being Open Comb ment more rinse cycles, but it still did the job.
Not a favorite of mine, but one that I can use effectively.

All the other stuff for this job worked as expected.

    To all
    Enjoy

    Nice shave, Terry!
I won a Star Bakelite razor in the TSD raffle from Andrew @Linuxguile that's cleaned and loaded. I just need to work it in to the rotation. Curious to see what it's like to shave with such a lite razor.

Similar story. Mrs. Gator is annoyed at a couple of marks that appear to be semi-permanent. Apparently being a tough guy comes at a price.

I seem to forget to say that the head was shaven too. I always think it's just part of the job, forgetting not everyone does it.

    Karve D Plate Open Comb

30 DC LE with 24mm Tuxedo
    MdC Fougere
    Myrsol Agua Balsamica

So far I have had a much needed relaxing morning. The 3o DC with a Tuxedo knot whipped up the MdC Fougere with ease. I took my time to add water slowly and ended up with a very slick lather. I went with a modified 3 pass shave, ATG, XTG and followed by a final ATG pass. The Karve D OC did not disappoint. A small weeper spoiled an otherwise epic shave. A splash of Myrsol Balsamica and I am clean shaven and refreshed. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

    March 2019 Recap

I have really enjoyed March. Since this time of year is very hectic for me, it is nice to be able to have drama free shaves. I was able to mix in new products along with existing products to achieve just that goal. I continued on with the quest to reduce my soap inventory. Several soaps and creams are closer and should be finished over the next couple of months. As usual the best part of the month was participating and following along. I hope to continue to participate and follow along next month.

I would have to say they probably would Danny, the only way to get past that is to post something worse. possibly a bribe of some sort might help the matter disappear.;)

    I'm interested too.
A light efficient razor with a sharp blade makes for a really good shave for me.

    Good luck with the Star!

i will second that sir, 50s to early 70s is my favorite era, with some 30s fords and stuff as well..while todays safety features make them the safest to date the designers dropped the ball in the looks department decades ago..the falcon has been a 3 year project so far as i take alot of time deciding the color, type and execution of the build. this is a now rare kit that is valuable.$100 up for a mint unbuilt as this was ,so to build and mod it took some stones..the original annual kit was modified into an altered wheel base kit in the late 60s and can never be reissued as in the original format..thank you Charlie..
