I have the 6C and it is a great shaver. You will not be disappointed if you decided to get the 6S.

That's good to know, especially since you have a coarse beard! I would order something like the Karve OC, but the shipping and customs taxes etc. make it a bit of a risk. With the Rockwell I will have 6 chances to get it right for £100 shipped to my door. Plus, the stainless steel and the lifetime guarantee (assuming he stays in business) are appealing!

Just the one. But she's from Central America, so she had hundreds of cousins. :D

Sorry about the rough shave. I really feel for you guys that have issues with irritation. I would suggest skipping the cleanup passes for now. Also you are using what many consider one of the milder razors. Over shaving with a mild razor is one of the causes of irritation. If I recall correctly, you are in the UK. If so consider joining either The Shaving Room or Against the Grain. Maybe you could borrow a Gillette New OC. I can't really tell the difference between the Short Comb or Long Comb. You might also score a 6s at a discount.

I have just found out that she is in need of a brand new pair of £120 hair straighteners... I sense justification of the purchase of a product that has similarly been engineered to improve aesthetics!

It was my own fault, Clint... I was trying a different approach (using a range of angled strokes for each different pass) and chased the baby. I don't normally suffer at all with the EFBT, but I think you might be right that the mildness of the razor is partially the issue if I am needing to over-shave. It was a fantastic razor to begin with, but it doesn't seem to get close enough in certain areas! It's still 1000000x better than when I first started on my journey... It's a DFS every time without cleanup!

James, I use the most aggressive plate (#6) to shave my head and it is quite difficult to cut yourself shaving with it. I am waiting for their Model T adjustable. Hopefully, I will get it sometime this year. With that said, I have been a committed straight razor shaver and rarely use my safety razors. Good luck finding the right razor for your beard.

I have a spot on my lower right neck that's extremely rough due to a spider bite. Most days and with most razors I can not get the area perfect. I don't really have an issue with irritation but I just let that area go with "good enough". I am glad I finally learned to accept "good enough". It has saved me a lot of time and frustration on work mornings.

    My March Recap.
I had a very enlightening month. My focus was to use all (5) my vintage razors. Half of my straight razors are vintage square points and 3 are bigger than 6/8. I didn't think that I would enjoy every one of them, but I do. Each has its own character. What surprised me was my recently purchased near wedge 7/8 Wosty giving me the best shave ever on my second shave with it. As of now, this is my order for best performance:
    1. 7/8 Wostenholm
    2. 15/16 Herder
    3. 7/8 Friodur
    4. 5/8 W F Engel
    5. 5/8 Wostenholm
These razors helped me with my technique and gave me the confidence to know that I can shave with any razor.
I had very good shaves with them. It is a nice problem to have when you like all your vintage straights as much as your cookie cutter newer models such as my Austs, Dovos and my Boker. Lest I forget, my DE shavers (2 Fatboys, a Slim, a Rockwell and the lowly VDH) are pretty cool too! Thanks guys for allowing me to share my shaving exploits with you.

Chasing BBS every time will lead to irritation, pretty much no matter what razor you use. Be careful not to get caught in the trap of always searching for the best razor. It is more about technique than tools, or as the mantra of the 30 Day Thread goes: Technique Trumps Tools. The Tech razors are great shavers and more than capable of providing a great shave. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
