Great read, nice picture, wonderful tools. Can't beat that ? Then you added the lemon-lime. Arko is a bit muddy when it comes to sent.
    Very nice Rick!

Good morning 30 dc! How was everyones night? Finally got under my house cleaned out, I had way more stuff down there than I thought. Today I should be setting tile, but plans have been changing on the whims of my pregnant wife. I am not one to complain, I do like forced time off.

The photos so far this month have been great. They always make me want to try new shave stuff.

Liked it so much I read it twice Bill!
Then I read it again ;).
Fantastic! I must try it some day.

The only thing is, if your running like heck, the clutch isn't necessary.:D

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Gillette Platinum Plus
    Razor: Schick I1
    Brush: JR #142 badger
    Soap: C.O. Bigelow
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

Nice shave this morning. Continuing with Bigelow cream for most of the week. It's easy, slick, and has a nice little menthol touch. A little Jeeves splash for the Tobacco Tuesday theme and I'm all set. Long day ahead.

    Have a great day!

I have made a decision regarding my efforts for the rest of the month. I will be, of course, utilising my new Fatip Grande (arrives today) and using up my TOBS Peppermint. I will also be seeing how many shaves I can get from a Feather blade. I have 4 left, and I would like them to last me the entire month.

I will be photographing and logging my inventory. I will then be storing my other razors (potentially with a view to selling some) in order to preserve my efforts towards a minimal/frugal shaving style. Next month I would like to pair my Palmolive with a cheap Wilkinson 'bristle' brush and a supermarket/pharmacy splash.

    Nice Perry!
Lots a menthol being used. May have to get some in the den.

Makes sense, Rick. I guess we'll hold on to the introduction of the fifth dimension for awhile longer too. I miss their tunes, though.

That's good to hear, James. I'd scoop up a bunch of this soap at 50p a stick. :)

If I may make a suggestion?
Stirling Orange Chill. Nice menthol kick without going full on face freeze. Clean crisp fresh orange scent. It's a Stirling favorite of mine. When I use my sample up it will definitely be a full sized purchase.

I am a fan of menthol, it's super nice. I use dr broners peppermint soap all summer and it has a little cooling. I also use goldbond cooling foot powder all summer to keep my legs from chaffing when it gets to be 95deg with 100% humidity, it is like having an ac in your shorts.
My only menthol shave stuff is my Pacific rush. That will be changing soon.

Thanks Jim! I think it will be an interesting experiment... Seeing what can be achieved with little gear/little cost (the Fatip at £15 before delivery classes as budget to me)!

I am also keen to experiment with the Excalibur blade longevity thingy! I will be doing that when I get chance too! I'll put my Schick to the test with Personnas/Prolines and my OCMM with the GEM Stainless... That's something for a later date though! I hope to achieve 20+ shaves on at least one of those blades
