I almost made an unkind comment about using Alabama math, but I held off. My dang filter prevents me from throwing some of my best zingers.
Thank you, Charlie! I noticed I didn't do a very good job with that picture of it. I had an orange handled brush off to the side that reflected onto the razor handle. It looks like rust in the picture. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Razor: Colonial Razor The General Handle: ATT Kronos Blade: Feather Pro Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom/ WildWest Brushworks Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo/ Boss Soap: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica / Route 66 Twisted Tweed Post Care: Stirling Unscented Witch Hazel, Alum Aftershave: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica I'm starting to thin out my den so I'm trying something different. I have 2 soaps with similar scents so I'm trying to decide between the 2 on which to keep. I used the SV and B-400 on my left side and the Route 66 and WildWest on my right. I prefer the scent of the Route 66 barely over the SV but it's close. Both easily lathered up however the SV produced a more stable lather; the Route 66 was thinner and bubbly while the SV was thick and creamy. Both offered good protection, glide and had enough residual slickness to allow for buffering. The alum was the deciding factor. It was completely silent on the SV side but there was a slight burn on the Route 66 side. In the fairness of science I'm going to repeat this shave but change sides and brushes before I make the final decision however this round goes to Saponificio Varesino. Have a great day folks!
I haven't met a child of the 60s that didn't have a little well-deserved rust. I don't even notice anymore, Jim. Seriously, it's a beauty, and it has another 100 years of shaves left in it. I think it's cool that we can still pick up vintage Gillettes with relative ease. At the rate they're getting scooped up by users and collectors, I doubt this will be the case in years to come. I know they were produced in great quantity, but it seems that many wet shavers collect them in multiples. I have backups for my backups....
Great picture, Ben! I like the scientific approach of swapping the variables around. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Congrats Clint! I hope you get it. It's cool that we're beginning to enable each other on houses now.
Great shave this morning. The Karve karved off three days of growth with no weepers, nicks, cuts or blood loss this morning. Think I may need to keep the Weck junior in a drawer for a while. Y'all have a great day!
