Incredible razors. I highly recommend them. My favorite adjustable. (don't tell the other Gillette guys. :o)

In other news, I am no help to people trying to curb spending. ;)

So, browsing ebay I see a guy selling a fatboy "with original instructions. The instructions look as white as fresh socks, and there is no crease in them, aslo instead of being front/back, it is two separate sheets. I send them a message:
    I then get this response:
Just curious now how he didn't know they were reproductions. Pretty sure he had to make them... At least he put the Q&A in the auction, didn't change the subtitle though, says he can't.

I don't even know why I got a bug to try the Progress/Mergress. Decided I wanted to see if I liked something other than a slant for that occasional shave and bam there it was.

Well, if you ever decide the Mergress isn't for you, I am sure you can easily find a home for it... I can think of a place a little SE of Ray that would make a wonderful home...

Funny you mention that. Immediately after I bought it bbsupersport PM'd me and asked the same thing. I told him he could have first crack if I don't like.

Seems everyone doesn't want me to like it.

I have used a 65 SS and a Merkur Slant. I just don't suffer from RAD, and simply want a tool that does the job. This package that Rodd is sending me will overload what razor curiosity I have.

I just want to find a razor I can as good as results as my slant that I can use a couple times a week. The gillette adjustables never did it for me but I have heard this is a better shaver than those. Lets see how it does with my beloved feathers.

You know Tracy those Feathers provide me with one phenomenal shave, one ok shave and then the third is starting to get rough. I'm stretching it because I'm waiting for those 7'o blacks to come in. I've never encountered a blade that goes from spectacular to average in just one shave. Weird.

I only get 3 shaves out them. 2 awesome shaves and then one great shave. I find blades cheap so I don't mind switching them out, even only after one or 2 shaves sometimes.

This is true, but I prefer to get more than one or two shaves from a blade if possible. With Rolls' stropping technique I got 4 nice shaves out of the 7'o black which is why I spent the money on them. Anyway like I said w/ the Feathers: it goes from one super shave to the next one not being so great (for me at least). It's kind of an expensive blade to be throwing away after one use. I know other guys are getting more than that though so to each his own and all that.

pfft. one Red IP, open box, take it out, take paper off, put in razor, use 6 to 8 times, take it out, repeat. no stropping or special needs.

Meh, for me it is take red ip out of cabinet, make decision to sell or throw out red ip, ultimately decide to throw out because shipping is more than blade is worth:prrr

I think that's because you have peach fuzz for whiskers Ray! :shocked003

Seriously I was a Red IP man for several months. I was getting three passable shaves, but after trying some more effective blades lately I find I can't go back to them. They pull too much...even on the first shave. Gave them all to my son. 10 bucks for 100 so no big loss.

Oh man, there are a lot of razors you need to try... Once you are done with the open combs... ;)

You seriously get 6-8 shaves out of a blade?

You shave every other day right?

My goodness if you buy 100 blades you have enough blades for 3 years or better.

Now now, I like my open comb. I think I'm gonna show it to potential new boyfriends, if they run away fast then I'll know they'll never survive being my bf for more than a couple of days anyhow. ;)

Well crap, if you wanted something different than a slant, I've got that Blue Tip and Slim that have died in the b/s/t....:D

I'm waiting a while, then I'll bump them back up....

Came home to a dog who got diarrhea and vomited in his crate today. What an awful mess. He's been needing a bath lately, anyway, but he didn't have to force my hand, sheesh! I guess it's a good thing he was crated, otherwise there'd be doggie puke and diarrhea all over the house...:sick007

When I was using gillettes I had a red tip which they claim is the most aggressive SS razor. I found it to be very mild and it would take me 6 or more passes to even get a close to smooth feel. I never tried a blue tip but I always assumed it would be too mild for my stubble.

Thats a true test;) Now if he can tell you what kind of razor it is then he is a keeper:D
