Try one Shep, you'll like it! I started out with a tech and then got the New from my mom. I haven't used the Tech since. Not that it is a BAD razor, the open comb just gets it done better.
You know, I thought the same thing. But I got good shaves from it, for a SuperSpeed. I'm not big on the SuperSpeeds, they're a bit light for my tastes. If you're interested, I'll send it out to you so you can try it out. It's not moving, anyway, I'll just take it off the b/s/t for a little bit.
I've tried an Old Type open comb. It was OK, I guess, although I do need to try it out some more. I have a Fat Handled Tech that I really do enjoy, though...
