Wednesday SOTN

So apparently I missed the boat regarding Arko April... My bad. I'll try to use it most of the month except for some Tabac Tuesdays or Thursdays. I pulled out a brand new Voskhod blade. Thanks @KRpdx for sending me some to try - a very sharp but comfortable blade indeed. I am smooth and smell great for bed. Have a great night everyone.

Todays shave was the first shave where i used Dave's croap and aftershave, and they are absolutely fantastic!!!!!! The menthol on that aftershave is top notch!!!!!!!!!
The review for his aftershave has now been posted in the aftershave section, and the soap one in the soap section, the balm one will be coming in a week or two once winter begins to hit, thats when i go crazy with the balms!

Tabac Thursday's Shave

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shaving Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Badger brush. I did two passes with Dad's Schick E3 razor with a Personna Injector blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Today is my youngest daughter‘s seventh birthday.

Today’s shave was with her favorite scents.

Barrister & Mann Seville today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Razor Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette Platinum-Plus still in the Gillette Slim. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Bentley Intense EdT.

I gotta tell ya...

Feels great to be rid of the beard! Nice, relaxing, two pass, minor touch-up BBS shave this morning.
Facial skin just a tad sensitive as it hadn't been scraped over in a few months, but no nicks or weepers.

 

I decided to try a sample from this soap. I'm glad I did! Great scent, and amazing performance. The brush is most assuredly a boar knot, good stiff back bone, which is what I like!

I like Personna blue, but had to try the Personna Reds, no big difference in my shave. I'll pass them along down the line.
The scuttle worked very well, keeps the brush from getting cold on the counter, and really holds heat!

A new toy I bought yesterday:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Wilkinson Long Handle/new Wilkinson
RVT Frosty Bay Rum SS

Krampert’s Bay Rum AS Splash
Bleu de Chanel EdT

My first shave with this new razor and I’m very satisfied. It appears to be very similar to my Super Speed or perhaps just very slightly more aggressive but perhaps I’m mistaken. The longer handle definitely means that you should use even less pressure and take shorter, slower strokes. The Frosty Bay Rum soap........wow, do I LOVE it - a boatload of beautiful lather with that gorgeous scent and that great cooling sensation as well as its soothing postshave care. The Prep delivered lots of additional loving attention and the Krampert’s Bay Rum aftershave felt and smelled wonderful, although Madame wasn’t too enthused with the scent! I’d say this shave was almost a BBS - let’s call it a DFS++!
