Continuing my April focus with the Ultimate Adjustable Focus R21. (In the family of plasticdoodad razors for those 'in the know'.)

For today I went ahead and did an ARKOver to the Island Mahn. GSB on 4.

Island Man whipped up easy with the syn tux, then I watered it 'just over to the sloshy side' in my shaving soap bowl that one would look quite ridiculous eating soup outta.

I'm thinking 4 shaves is good to call it quits on this blade, it could go more, but that is not what I'm after with a shavette. Much like that perfect golf shot that draws you back, the effortless feel of a new blade in a shavette is almost intoxicating. I resisted the urge to dial up my aggression for blade wear and adjusted with extra passes. Results were the same, but 4 gentle passes instead of 3 when new. I'll be changing blade type as I move forward but 4 shaves on the GSB is good for me.

Finished up with the Stirling Island Man A/S. What a delightful scent. It is only made in the spring and summer, but I use it year round.

    Happy Shaves. Max Headroom Reporting.

Yesterday's, a bit tardy in posting...back to my GEM, while I have a lot of sticks, my goal is have something from each blade style pretty dialed in, obviously DE's are saturated, but my slant runs against them all, cannot wait for the Blackland Slant.

Despite being on third shave, a coated blade and corking after shave 1 the GEM style continues to insist on tight head angle control, while efficient, still not very forgiving.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #340 Badger
    Dad's Schick E3
    Personna Injector
    CWR
    Lucky Tiger

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Almalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Badger brush. I did two passes with Dad's Schick E3 razor with a Personna Injector blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
