    Through some not-so-subtile enabling, I re-purchased a soap, which was one of the "original" members
    of Primo's shave den: Stirling Glastonbury. This soap will be the main subject of this post.
    One thing you have to say about Stirling. They pack the tubs full and offer their products at
    VERY reasonable prices. Glastonbury is no exception.
    I fell victim to the "soon-to-be discontinued" bug. OMG, never again to be offered...:eek:
    Must have, must purchase, must, must must...:eatdrink020:
    What I discovered is that after 4 1/2 years since selling off my first tub of this soap,
    my opinion has not changed one single iota.

    To be perfectly clear, I LIKE Patchouli. (I think I would prefer the Nag Champa)
    But as a shave soap...it's simply not "floating my boat".
    AND...the post shave of this soap was a huge disappointment. My face was DRY. Arid-dry.
    Slickness was mediocre at best. Maybe, this was user error and I could have added more H2O,
    BUT, I am not a beginner when it comes to creating lather.
    The Portland dragged. BTW, professionally honed by Glen, not me.
    The matching AS was somewhat of a hydrating relief.
    UPDATE: SWMBO says: I like how you smell, today.
    I guess I am keeping the Glastonbury.    ​

    Wonderful photo and post Joseph. I am not a fan of most Stirling scents I have tried. However, the R4L soap and aftershave have a wonderful sophisticated scent that compare well with the best shave soaps and aftershaves made.

    Happy Friday. Happy Friday. I am so glad it is Friday. I am working at a client site most of the day which means no tax returns today. I am so caught up, I might even get to our returns and file them on time. The little Duke 3 synthetic is very different than the CH2 synthetic. The Duke is much less dense and much easier to splay while still have excellent backbone. The little brush whipped up a mountain of rich slick lather. Three passes and touch ups saw the little guy just escape. A splash of Fine Lavender and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a terrific Friday.
