1st gen British Aristocrat Jr. with a Bic blade. Shaves like a 40s style Super Speed but overall shave is better. It is also a much better razor and shaver than the 2nd gen British Aristocrat Jr. It may not be as smooth but it is just as mild and much more efficient.

On we roll on the road of Aristocrats and this one comes courtesy of a No. 58 set. This particular razor has been referred to as an Aristocrat Junior in print ads of the era though at 71 grams, I don’t know just how “Junior” this guy is. Love the knurling pattern on this and it is quite distinctive. There is a “II” stamped into the underside of the blade tray and the corresponding red leatherette case has the red retaining band that appeared around 1956. Thanks @brit for your insight! Soap of the day was RazoRock Plaque Doctor and quite a good soap it is. Scent is a nice blend of herbs and flowers with some musk. I can pick out lavender and violet and the matching AS knocks it out of the park. Brush today was the Simpson Special 1 in Best Badger. This brush is affordable and has a very comfortable 40mm loft and 19mm knot. Lathers nicely and a 30 second load got me enough lather for three easy passes. Lovely three pass shave with a touch up (just because I was just enjoying the scent) and BBS achieved. Well on with the day and on to the weekend! Happy shaves all!! Thanks, Gary! If you like the soap you'll like the aftershave. I for one love the scent. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
