The first photo shows vintage minoras which i got with one of my superspeeds, those blades are made in the UK.

The second photo shows the minoras marketed in SA but made in Russia, i suspect in the same factory as the 7 oclock blades.[IMG][IMG]

Great report! Looks like a super shave setup. And thanks for the commentary on those Stirling products - always good to get reports from the trenches on what they're really like!

Good morning, another fine shave slat night with the blackbeauty, 1 pass on the face and 2 on the ol' noggin. Alum was a little warm on my neck, I need to practice more with the preasure for this razor. I may have to go to one shave and done with the blade when I am also shaving my head. Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Hello all, been a busy week and I'm kinda under the weather, so not much time to devote to here. Sorry.
Anyway lots been happening here I see, some updates from my den.
Three days ago I tried to use a just received Neillite Double Edge Safety Razo. The razor seems like it would be everything I like about a razor. Light in feel and older or just as old as I am. Using A new Feather blade the first pass left me wanting for a shave. This razor is far far to mild a razor for me to get any amount of reduction.
Meaning I had to use another razor to do the job. My brass head OC Conrad was just in reach and a quick swaping of the blade made me happy. Another blade and the 3rd pass got me where I like. Now I will say 3 passes, but the fitst pass shouldn't count. Using Arko fo the Wednesday morning shave, all worked OK.

Yesterday I used a PAL adjustastable I received Wednesday. Wanting to try out this razor for compairison, breaking away from the Arko, I used the just received Stirling Spice to set the stage. I am not a fan of perfumy sents, but Old Spice is an exception.
My nose tells me that this is close, very close. The shave was not what I expected, first pass was usable, the second and head shave left me wanting. I did not notice that I used the wrong blade untill later that night. Instead of the B-20 blades I used a normal injector blade.
So the jury is still out on this razor. I did notice that the adjustment numbers seem to be backward. L has the bar further away from the blade than H, I ran it on L.

This mornings shave was a 50's SOEUNA so it was advertised. There were 2 razors in the one on ebay but the OC was the one I was shooting for.

It looked very ugly, but it did clean up OK.
I tried it out for the first time using a Polsilver blade. Wanting to try one for a while, I put one in this razor with one on deck. The first pass was great, the second pass with the same blade worked. Hmmm, the head shave went ok too. So I might try these blades for a while, just to see how they work out. I have about 80 so that should be a good test.

All the shaves were uneventful, close and smooth with no issues.
If I get time today I'll look through the post, but being my only day off and having great weather, I doubt I will sit at the phone anymore than I have.
    To all
    Enjoy!

    Good morning gents!
I just ended my shave. I continued with my Dovo shavette armed with the Personna hairshaper blade. Decided to face lather Stirling Sandalwood with my Semogue OC badger. Stirling soaps always provide a nice slick lather.
Two passes, a minuscule weeper on mustache area resulted in an irritation free BBS. I am one shy of 50 shavette shaves and my technique has improved dramatically. Although I started out well when I first used this razor, my strokes are now more deliberate and sure as well as my touch is at its lightest. I realize that I am repeating myself, but this shavette gives awesome shaves. I finished the shave with Stirling Sandalwood AS.
    Result: Grade 97 = A+.
    Have a nice Saturday gentleman.
PS I have been busy so I haven't kept up with everyone's posts, but will do so this weekend.

Thanks Clint! It is going to be quiet. I am going to a church service this morning. By the way, I have been out of the loop for awhile, I am assuming your pain went away. May I asked what caused it?

Thank you for asking Joe. The abdominal pain is gone now. I have had diverticulitis for almost 30 years and a series of abdominal surgeries. Stress has a big impact on my GI system. My guess is the stress of tax season and Maya's surgery impacted me.
