We had a 40’s Massey-Harris when I was growing up. More of a project for my dad than anything, but it did get used a few times a year on our small hobby farm. It had about 6 of the original attachments as well, that I remember well as I had to move them every week when I mowed the yard...

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: JR #41 badger
    Soap: Stirling Dunshire
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dunshire aftershave

Great shave a little while ago. Outstanding lather and easy whisker reduction with the G-Bar. Nice and easy overall.

Off to a district band concert this afternoon and then back to do some low key packing and relaxing. Enjoy your day!

Cool tractor, Danny! I'm not sure of the brand, but my grandfather had an old tractor from the 1930s on his farm and we used it up until he died in 2005. It was gray and red but not sure of the brand. I loved driving it and cutting his fields. It took hours but it was perfect for me as a kid. He was a special man and there are a lot of memories there.

I'm absent mindedly watching a PAL adjustable in the case on an auction. If anyone is lusting for one, it's currently requires a bid of $8.95 plus shipping , ending on 4/9 at 6:40 PM Pacific time. PM me for link.

That's a great price. Interesting razor. Shaves very differently than the Schick injectors.

The difference can be insignificant, or it can be significant. How's that for definitive? I think the main difference between blades produced in the same factory (St. Pete for Gillette, Moscow for Mostochlegmash) is most likely the honing process. In other words, sharpness and smoothness. It can also be a difference of how much of the coating is put on the particular brand of blades. In comparing the St. Pete group of blades I find Astra to be the smoothest, and one of the sharpest platinums. Gillette Platinum - also excellent. The 7 o'clock yellow - very sharp but not as smooth for a platinum blade. Comparing teflons - GSB is quite excellent (along with Voskhod from the Moscow side) but I find Sputnik to be a lesser choice. (Not quite as sharp and seems to wear faster).

Ultimately, all of the Gillette and Mostochlegmash blades perform quite well, and the difference in preference may, in fact, lie in the user. Different skin types, which soap we use, and, of course, technique involved. Nearly every blade will provide a shave (I'm looking at YOU Tiger and Quick Tiger - you couldn't cut a fly in half) if the user knows how to use it. That being said, favorites are the ones that feel best and work best for each of us. I've always tried to remain open to the fact that people can and do love certain blades that I find less than great. (Now I'm looking at YOU Big Ben and Rubie). I will also attest to the fact that I have found some blades I hated four years ago when I first tried them to be quite nice now. There's that technique thing again.

Great looking combo, Keith! That Polo 12 looks almost as big as your large Kent. Similar?
I just got one of JR’s Celtic laminate brushes in the raffle as well, Neal. Very cool brush for sure.
Love the photo! The scales look like they match the granite countertop, too.
The razor cleaned up beautifully, Terry. Hope you are feeling better today as well.
I believe that is the guest bathroom in the pool house...
I don’t have a New Deluxe, John, but I agree that the NI is closer to a NEW than an OT. You are right, it will bite if it can.
Those colours are extraordinary, Jim. Nice reflection in the handle as well...:)
Beautiful shot. Looks like our snow is done here, Doug. Yard is melted and temps are above zero at night now.
That Thater is a beauty, Clint. Have a relaxing weekend.

Thanks Rick! I do have Clubman as well. Between Clubman, Canoe, Skin Bracer, and Avon Wild Country I have enough Barber Shop scented AS to last the rest of my life. I transferred my Clubman into the OS Telescope decanter. In the interest of science I just applied some Clubman to my right wrist and some Canoe to my left. I have to say are about 90% similar. Upon initial application I will say I get a little but more powder from the Clubman and a little bit more lavender from the Canoe. Also the Clubman is more in your face while the Canoe is more subtle. I will say also that the synthetic note that the Clubman use to have when in it's plastic bottle is gone now that it's been sitting in the telescope decanter for over a year. Those that are hating on Clubman really ought to try decanting it into glass.

    Thank you.

It would be the lighting used playing some games.
The razor is predominantly grey, the counter predominantly brown.

The counter is quartz. A manufactured product containing about 94% stone. Low maintenance. High color, pattern, and appearance consistency. It is supposed be giving granite a run for it's money. I'm pleased with it.
