That's a good point, Doug. They are certainly light. The B1 repeater is much heavier in comparison to the later Schick models.

Ahh, I've looked at those. Needing another type of blade is not a show stopper, but it would slow my introduction. I do recognize the inherent difference in the thicker steel of a Schick type blade. Weck shavettes also use a thicker steel as compared to DE blades.

Look deeper - check the ingredients. There may be a face feel you get from something specific; lanolin, shea butter, glycerin, etc. If you can isolate the cause and effect most any product can have the special stuff added.
