Glad lots of folks had opportunity to post and hang out! I consider anything before 7 AM the night before, so I count 408 messages just since then. The 30 DC generated content at a 3.78 to 1 ratio over the Shave of the Day thread so far this month.

Time to switch razors and I decided to go with the Soviet Consul. I've had six days on Gillette adjustables so it's time to switch it up. The Consul is a nice knock off of the Slim, with one difference. Bigger gaps. It's not as gappy as the Futur or its clones, but it's definitely a more aggressive razor than the Gillettes. From 9 on a Gillette, go about halfway to a 6 on a Futur and you're at 9 on the Consul.

Arko still rules the month for me, as it should, and I went with the Stirling synthetic brush. It took no effort at all to load and lather and I was off and running. The Sharp Star was my choice for a blade to keep everything Russian in my hands, and because I need a blade I know will be smooth and sharp. The Consul can be a bit bitey if you don't keep a steady hand on it. No major issues, though I did get a bit of a rough feel right under my chin on the goatee line. No blood, though, but it let me know I'd opened that angle up and was approaching butchery. All in all a very nice two pass and touch up for the near-BBS finish.

No ARKO or Adjustable tonight. Only a cool tropical Citrus mix. If anyone else has endeavored to emulate the cologne this is the bar to match. Tallow based and dead on the scent, it's a great lather every time. The oversized badger knot made plenty of lather from a bloomed puck so I got my three passes and cleaned up the jaw line and lower neck. Still had lather left over. With the Gillette Bar handle John @John Ruschmeyer sent being on the Lutz Slant, I didn't go swapping them back yet. The hexagon shape and texture give plenty of grip and I like the solid metal weight. First pass told me the Astra SP was still ready for another go. Results of the reduction reflect the blade exposure afforded by the cap and base plate - efficient though it feels mild while in use. After rinsing, cool menthol followed directly by high alcohol AS gave no notice of nicks.

Nice combo Rick, is the yaqi doc a mild razor or one that will get the job done? I have a PAA doc but its a tad bit on the wanting side.
