Back at the Glastonbury today in an attempt to redeem my lather-producing skills.
Last time, I didn't use enough H2O and even though the lather appeared to be well-hydrated
the results said otherwise.
I did pre-wet the puck...otherwise known as "Blooming"...
I went directly to the face and dipped the bristles in the water at least 10 times...minimum.
The lather took on a lovely sheen while maintaining its integrity.
The razor today is a Ralf Aust 5/8, which is a serviceable razor, but no where near the quality of some of my other razors,
even the imprinting of the name on the tang is sub-par.
First, I lapped the blade about 8 times on my CrOx-impregnated linen strop and then with the
Wladimir Slavin for 50 laps.
Nice results today. No nicks, cuts or weepers.
Dragging was minimal, except for around the chin, and only when shaving ATG.
Post-shave was not nearly as dry as last time.
The AS, which has the SWMBOSOA, completed the job nicely, too.

We spent a good part of yesterday in the ER with our dear Aunt. She's like a second Mom to my Bride, and we're thankful that she thinks enough of us to call when she needs something. She received some answers to the pain she was having, and they will keep her for a few days for some physical therapy. Nothing serious and definitely treatable, so we're blessed.

I did manage to have my soft serve ice cream yesterday. You guys were busy 'round these parts. It was fun catching up on the thread this morning. Definitely some cool shaves and much good banter. Big congrats to the Baylor girls for their NCAA win! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Quick 2 pass DFS for the cheeks, neck ends up DFS or CCS (right side) when in a little bit of 'just do it' mode. 1st pass was with the PolSilver blade on it's 3rd use (6 total passes). It got very draggy and rough feeling. I have come to the conclusion I have tough facial hair. Always told by the barber I have thick hair, in two ways. Maybe it's why I prefer blades that start off sharp/smooth rather than sharp/edgy. While I can use Feather blades...they start a bit edgy for me on the 1st pass and then seem to smooth out for the 2nd-4th passes.

Today's gear and software is a favorite of Mom's. I think it's an aroma she grew up with, as it definitely reminds me of my grandparents bathroom. The L1 is also my birth quarter (year) razor. The past 3 months I've been wet shaving she's always commented the most when I used this combination of product (aroma), and visited her 1-2 times every day. Yesterday, a rough day. Mom passed away late afternoon. Now, it's time to honor her with a funeral later this week.

Lather: Speick Shave Stick
Aftershave: Fine Fresh Vetiver
Additional Care:
Stirling Unscented PSB

I am at the airport, so I should have a bit of time to get caught up. It was a nice shave this morning with the Karve and Speick, great for a gym shave. The Karve is great razor, so it is my weapon of choice for this week away.

I will have lots of airport time today as I have an hour and a half here in Houston, then about 2.5 in Newark. I hope everyone has a great day. Mine will be good, but tiresome.

Soap: Soap Commander Vision
Post: Witch hazel, Soap Commander Vision aftershave

PAL Adjustable today to fit into the theme a little bit. Used setting L since I shaved less than 24 hours ago. Smooth and comfortable all around. The Vision scent of Soap Commander is wonderful. Great way to start the work week.

Good morning!

Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes, skipped the touch up. Near BBS with silent alum.

Switched from the Slim to the Fatboy. Loaded a fresh Feather and went to work.

I'm going through my stack of soaps and using stuff that only has one use. Yesterday was the second use of Cafe Au Lait and today is the second use of Arko. I had better results this time. I kept adding water as suggested by @Linuxguile for plenty of the slick stuff for three full passes with enough left in the brush for a couple more.

Used this setup for the first time. It worked wonders. Of course the razor is just like any other tech.
This soap is awesome and works well. If you want to use some great soap I recommend it.
