Samples from Lakewood Soap Company came today. I'll be reporting in with future shaves but off the bat these smell better than Arko.
Thank you, Danny! I am very impressed with the Voskhod brand. I know that I prefer moderately aggressive blades and this one fits me perfectly. I don't think that I would go for a Feather or Kai, unless to satisfy my curiosity. Anyway, I can say that I have shaved with my '59 and '61 Fatboys and they are indeed wonderful razors.

Do you have or have you compared it to vintage Old Spice? They claim a match, but I recall there are several companies doing it. I've enjoyed a couple Vegan soaps but lean toward tallow based. Stirling Spice is another I'm reading about. They've got tallow, shea butter & lanolin going for them. Also in the running, Mama Bears Aged Spice though it's a glycerin based. B & M offers their well reviewed Reserve Spice but I hesitate at the ingredients list that's as long as Doritos Cool Ranch chips. There's a brand I've not seen on the boards called Cooper & French selling Old Goat that is tallow and goat milk. Chiseled Face has their Trade Winds, but the mint and cucumber doesn't trump the tallow content in my mind. Mystic water has Windjammer but it's an OS & bay rum and I don't do B.R. scents. I've read that the original Old Spice soap lathered as well as Tabac but I'm not dropping ebay priced funds for a soap with no scent left. Better to experiment descenting a puck of Tabac and adding real Shulton juice to make my own.
@b1hart sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, my condolences and prayers. Have a safe trip, that is a quick turn around after a very long flight.
Nice shave and review, Perry! If you have tried Stirling soaps, then how does SC stand against Stirling?
